Sheffield United’s Next Head Coach Betting Odds (December 4, 2023)
Sheffield United had a shocking start to the season, and it was about time for Paul Heckingbottom to leave. Chris Wilder is currently at the top of the favorites to return to Bramall Lane again, but who are the other contenders to take on the job?
Paul Heckingbottom is the First Premier League Manager to get Sacked this Season
Sheffield United have decided to part ways with Paul Heckingbottom after a slow start, making him the first EPL manager to get sacked this season. The Blades broke the record for the worst-ever start to a Premier League season, as they have only five points after 14 games played, and they have conceded 39 goals so far, making them the worst defense in the league.
Next Sheffield United Manager Odds
Here are the odds for which coach will replace Paul Heckingbottom as the next Sheffield United manager:
- Chris Wilder @ 1.33 (1/3)
- Neil Warnock @ 15.0 (14/1)
- Graham Potter @ 17.0 (16/1)
- Frank Lampard @ 17.0 (16/1)
- Ole Gunnar Solskjaer @ 17.0 (16/1)
Chris Wilder has managed the team previously for five years during the 2016–2021 seasons. Wilder has been free since the Watford sacking in May, and he is the biggest favorite to take on the job. Neil Warnock is a Sheffield United legend as well, as he led them as a coach to a promotion to the EPL in 2006, so it’s possible for him to return.
Graham Potter and Frank Lampard are the two previous Chelsea managers, and they haven’t coached any team since then. A move to Bramall Lane is unlikely for either of them, as they are probably waiting for better offers during the season.
The Manchester United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also one of the contenders, but he is now the technical observer for UEFA. His name has been linked to many clubs since leaving the Red Devils, so it will be interesting to see where he lands for his next coaching job.
