Paulo Fonseca Is Bookies Top Choice as Next Newcastle Manager

After considerable speculation, it looks like the ex-manager of Roma has emerged as the frontrunner to take over as Newcastle’s manager after Steve Bruce’s recent exit.
There have been several favourites to take on the coveted role, with the Portuguese manager being the most recent of many. Not far behind him is Lucien Favre, one-time Borussia Dortmund manager, with odds of 4/1.
There are a couple of Englishmen in the running, too, with Eddie Howe, who is currently out of work, running in third place with odds of 6/1, along with Steven Gerrard, Rangers manager.
Other interesting candidates have also thrown their hats into the ring, including Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard’s midfield England partner, with odds of 16/1, Unai Emery, Brendan Rodgers, and Roberto Martinez tied with odds of 25/1.
The outside candidates include Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, with odds of 33/1, followed by 3 big names – Rafa Benitez, Zinedine Zidane, and Roberto Mancini, all with 40/1 odds.
Some British bookies are so confident that Fonseca will be given the role that they have cut the odds on his succession to just 10/11.
