The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament is coming to an end, and we are going into the crucial stages of the competition. Nigeria is currently the favorite to win the title after the knockout of Morocco and Senegal, but the odds are close for a lot of the other contenders.
The 2023 AFCON knockout stage has been a crazy one so far. Three of the top five favorites to win the tournament were knocked out before the quarterfinals, as Morocco, Senegal, and Egypt are officially out. The quarterfinal matchups will be held on Friday, February 2, and Saturday, February 3, as the final will be played at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium on February 11.

Nigeria was the third favorites on the 2023 AFCON winner odds after the group stage. They beat one of the biggest African teams in the Round of 16, Cameroon, and have been consistent throughout the tournament. Ivory Coast knocked out the defending champions, Senegal, in a dramatic penalty shootout. They are the home team, and their odds were cut by more than half to win the competition after that win.
Mali wasn’t even one of the favorites to qualify from their group, but they have shown some great resilience to beat Burkina Faso in the last round. DR Congo beat Egypt on penalties as underdogs. They weren’t even in the top 10 favorites before the start of the tournament, but they are still unbeaten so far. South Africa knocked out the clear favorites, Morocco, with style. They will have good chances of reaching the semifinals, at least.
