But do the betting offers to suggest that we should bet on Man City and call it a day, or are there other FA Community Shield 2022 betting tips worth looking at? Let’s see.

Manchester City to Win – 11/8

There is a chance this match ends in a draw, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see Liverpool upset their domestic rivals. But looking at the head-to-head records, the club’s stats, and their recent match records, it’s hard not to add Manchester City to our FA Community Shield 2022 betting tips sheet.

Man City was the better team last season, and they looked much better during the pre-season. Moreover, the Sky Blues have bolstered their squad with the signing of Erling Haaland, who might be the final missing piece City need to conquer Europe.

Anything can happen in the FA Community Shield match, and we have seen some strange results. But out of the two clubs, we prefer Man City, who are priced fairly generously on Paddy Power and Unibet, knowing how their ceiling is.

Erling Haaland to Score Anytime – 11/10

Erling Haaland debuted for Man City on July 24 against Bayern Munich when he scored his maiden goal for his new club. Moreover, the goal secured Man City a colossal victory, and the Norwegian superstar achieved it despite spending just 45 minutes on the pitch.

Obviously, a goal in his first match for the new team doesn’t mean a lot, but there is a good chance Halland will find himself on the scoresheet again. He is one of the most prolific goalscorers in the world, and he has technically yet to score a goal for Man City – at least in a proper match.

You can be sure Halland will have his chances to get one this weekend, knowing how efficient he is with the ball. We won’t be shocked if he scores his second for City.

Under 2.5 Goals – Evs

Of the last five head-to-head meetings between Man City and  Liverpool, just one game ended with fewer than t3 goals, but we won’t follow those stats with our Liverpool vs Man City predictions. Despite what the head-to-head stats suggest, we are confident that the weekend spectacle won’t see more than two goals.

Even though both teams will want to win, it’s not like they care too much about the title and will take the match as a practice fixture ahead of the real season. Moreover, we can expect the teams to take the affair lightly since they don’t want to risk serious injuries before the season starts.

Liverpool: New Season, New Opportunity

The Reds come into a new season hoping to improve upon an excellent campaign, which was ultimately ruined by no other than Man City. In an alternate universe where Man City wasn’t competing in the English Premier League, Liverpool would have walked to the title and would be undeniably the strongest English football club.

The gap between these 2 EPL juggernauts and the rest is quite substantial, seeing how City won the EPL title with 93 points, Liverpool landed in second with 92, while Chelsea, who finished third, sat 18 points behind the Reds. The Liverpool vs Man City clashes features the best clubs EPL has to offer.

Given how closely contested the title was between the two teams last season, it’s fair to ask ourselves what will happen this time out. The stats the teams have produced were reasonably similar; talent-wise, there isn’t much to separate them. But the pre-season stats Liverpool put together are anything but convincing.

Liverpool had a very inconsistent pre-season, first winning 2-0 over Crystal Palace and adding a 5-0 stomping of RB Leipzig, but they also lost (0-4) against Manchester United and Salzburg (0-1). Having shown strong performances against lesser sides and losing against Salzburg and Man Utd isn’t a good look for Liverpool and should make you wonder whether they can outperform the current top English squad.

Last 5 Games

  • Salzburg 1-0 Liverpool
  • RB Leipzig 0-5 Liverpool
  • Liverpool 2-0 Crystal Palace
  • Manchester United 4-0 Liverpool
  • Liverpool 0-1 Real Madrid

Manchester City: Deadly As Ever

Manchester City had their dreams of winning the Champions League spoiled by Real Madrid in the semis, but they bounced back in style, winning another Premier League title. It was a bittersweet finish to the season, albeit Man City don’t have anything to cry about.

It is still one of the most stacked squads in the EPL and arguably the main favourite to retain its throne as the best English football club. As with any previous season, Man City’s goal is to dominate in Europe, and who are we to say they can’t do it?

Admittedly, this match is fairly meaningless for Man City ahead of their European campaign, but they will want to hit the ground running. And you can imagine how sweet it must be to beat your main domestic rivals. But can Man City do it?

According to the odds on Liverpool vs Man City in FA community shield 2022, the Sky Blues should have the tools to win, and we must agree. They were the better team last year, and with the addition of Erling Haaland, Man City now looks even more dangerous.

Manchester City has the tools to win and now boasts a highly efficient goalscorer; there isn’t much to suggest they can’t beat Liverpool. Now it all comes down to the execution.

Last 5 Games

  • Bayern Munich 0-1 Manchester City
  • Manchester City 2-1 Club America

Team News

Erling Haaland will make his first appearance in an official match for Man City and look to impact his new club immediately; however, it’s unknown whether he will get to play the full 90 minutes. On the other side, City are without Raheem Sterling, who left for Chelsea this offseason.

Liverpool will also miss a key player from last season, Sadio Mane, who left for Bayern Munich alongside Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino. But the Reds have added three new players, Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho, and Calvin Ramsay, who we could see running on the pitch this weekend.

Liverpool vs Man City Predictions – Bonus Selection

As a bonus to our Liverpool vs Man City betting tips list, we’re on Half Time/Full Time bet on Draw/Man City at 5/1. It’s unlikely for the team to go all out in the first 45 minutes, which will likely be spent testing out the opponents and finding weaknesses, so there’s a good chance we’ll enter the second half with a tie. From there, it’s anyone’s game, but we prefer Man City over Liverpool.

Prediction: Draw/Man City – 5/1
