FIFA Club World Cup 2022 Odds, Predictions & Winning Tips (February 1-11, 2023)

Club Wc

The FIFA Club World Cup features the winners of the six continental confederations, as well as the host nation’s league champions. Real Madrid would be looking to extend their successes beyond Europe, while the other teams would be hoping for a major upset.

FIFA 2022 Club World Cup Key Info

The FIFA Club World Cup is scheduled to hold every December, but the Qatar World Cup last year saw things rescheduled for 2023. This is the 19th edition of the FIFA Club World Cup, and Flamengo is already looking to end European dominance.

Tournament: FIFA Club World Cup 2022, 19th Edition
Venues: Tangiers and Rabat Stadiums, Morocco
Dates: February 1-11, 2023

2022 FIFA Club World Cup Format & Overview

The FIFA Club World Cup format begins in a straight knockout tournament. The winners of the AFC Champions League (Asia), CAF Champions League (Africa), CONCACAF Champions League (North, Central America, and Caribbean), Copa Libertadores (South America), OFC Champions League (Oceania) and UEFA Champions League (Europe) qualifies automatically while the host nation’s national champions join to make it seven teams.

The host nation’s national champions begin with a play-off against the Oceania champions, from which the winner joins the champions of Asia, Africa, and North America in the final eight. The winners of the quarterfinals would go on to face the European and South American champions, who enter the semi-final stage, for a place in the final. Games ending in draws are decided by either extra time or penalties afterward.

FIFA Club World Cup 2022 Odds

Here is how the situation with chances of winning the FIFA Club World Cup 2022 looks like:

Participants of Club World Cup 2022 Odds to Win 2022 Clubs’ World Cup
Real Madrid 1.40 (2/5)
CR Flamengo 4.50 (7/2)
Al Hilal Rijad 25.00 (24/1)
Seattle Sounders 25.00 (24/1)
Al Ahly SC 35.00 (34/1)
Wydad AC 50.00 (49/1)
Auckland City FC 100.00 (99/1)

Real Madrid To Win @ 1.40 (2/5)

The European Champions have always been the favorites in almost all the editions of this tournament, and the bookmakers back Real Madrid to clinch glory in Morocco. Real Madrid has won two of the last five FIFA Club World Cup editions, and they’re the most successful team with four titles. They are two wins away from glory as they begin with a semifinal game.

CR Flamengo @ 4.50 (7/2)

Flamengo is the second favorite on the odds for betting on football in this event, although there is still a good gap between them and Real Madrid. The South Americans are the current champions of the Copa Libertadores, and that earned them a place in the FIFA Club World Cup. Flamengo’s only success outside South America was the Intercontinental Cup victory in 1985, and if there are any slip-ups from Real Madrid, Flamengo is next in line to bag the trophy.

Al Hilal Rijad @ 25.00 (24/1)

Al Hilal is the most decorated club in Asia, with 65 official team trophies to their name. The Leaders won the AFC Champions League for a record fourth time and subsequently booked their spot in the FIFA Club World Cup. Al Hilal participated twice in this event in 2019 and 2021. They finished fourth on both occasions and would be hoping to better last year’s results.

Seattle Sounders @ 25.00 (24/1)

After their first MLS title win in 2016, Seattle Sounders has added a few more accolades, including the recent title win in the CONCACAF Champions League 2022. They are America’s representative in this competition and are one of the most valuable teams in North America. Seattle Sounders is one of the youngest teams in this tournament, but their development has been massive, and only Real Madrid and Flamengo have lesser odds of winning the Club World Cup in 2023.

Al Ahly SC @ 35.00 (34/1)

Al Ahly Sporting Club holds the record for most wins in the CAF Champions League with ten titles to their name. They were named the African club of the 20th century. Al Ahly is a regular in this tournament but has yet to taste glory after three participation. The Red Devils finished third in the last two editions of the FIFA Club World Cup and would be hoping for a good start when they entertain Auckland City on Wednesday.

Wydad AC @ 50.00 (49/1)

Wydad is participating in this tournament as the national champion of the host nation, Morocco. They are the best team in the country, but they are lacking enough quality compared to their peers in this competition. Wydad AC is playing in the FIFA Club World Cup for the first time, and not much is expected from them as they meet the champions of the other continents.

Auckland City FC @ 100.00 (99/1)

Auckland City is the most successful team in Oceania, with serial dominance in the last decade. Albert Riera’s team defeated Venus 3-0 to clinch the OFC Champions League title for the 10th time. They have struggled to replicate their performances outside their continent due to the difference in quality between them and their competitors. It would be one of the biggest upsets in football if Auckland City manages to reach the finals and win it.

History Of the FIFA Club World Cups

The FIFA Club World Cup is the biggest prize in club football, with prize money of $5 million for the winner and $4 million for the runners-up. The first edition of the FIFA Club World Cup was held in 2000, and Corinthians emerged victorious, defeating Vasco da Gama on penalties, while Real Madrid finished in fourth place.

Real Madrid would go on to win their first title in 2014, defeating San Lorenzo in Morocco, but they have the record for the highest number of titles (4). Last year’s event made it nine consecutive wins for European teams as Thomas Tuchel guided Chelsea to their first-ever title after a 2-1 win over Palmeiras.

Last Five Winners & Runner-ups

  • 2021/22: Chelsea 2-1 Palmeiras
  • 2020/21: Bayern Munich 1-0 Tigres UNAL
  • 2019/20: Liverpool 1-0 Flamengo
  • 2018/19: Real Madrid 4-1 Al Ain
  • 2017/18: Real Madrid 1-0 Gremio

2022 FIFA Club World Cup Betting Tips and Predictions

Real Madrid To Win @ 1.40 (2/5)

Team form barely matters when Real Madrid plays in European competitions. Despite being underdogs in those games, they were brilliant against top teams like Manchester City and Liverpool last season. There are no doubts about Real Madrid’s quality compared to the other teams in this competition, and this event should be a wrap for Los Blancos.

Real Madrid is still in the knockouts of the UEFA Champions League, and they sit only five points behind Barcelona in the league. Carlo Ancelotti’s team was affected by Aurelien Tchouameni’s injury, but he would be back for their campaign, and this gives them an extra edge. Considering the strength of these teams, a bet on Real Madrid to win the FIFA World Cup is the best option in this fixture.

Karim Benzema 3+ Goals @ 2.50 (6/4)

Karim Benzema was out with an injury towards the end of last year, and he subsequently missed out on the World Cup in Qatar. Since his return from injury, he has been exceptional for Real Madrid, with nine goals in eleven matches. Real Madrid is expected to play two games in this competition, and Karim Benzema should have no trouble scoring at least three goals against any team he faces in the FIFA Club World Cup. Backing Benzema to hit at least three goals is a good bet on the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup.

Runners-up – Flamengo @ 1.50 (1/2)

Brazillian football is experiencing a breakout of talent, which has benefited their successes outside the continent. Flamengo has a wealth of experience in their team, with players like Arturo Vidal, David Luiz, and Filipe Luis adding extra steel to the team. Only Real Madrid can boast of a better squad than Flamengo, and with their recent exploits, they are very likely to get to the final and lose to Real Madrid.
