ATP 2023 Miami Tennis Masters Predictions and Betting Odds (March 22 – April 2)

ATP 2023 Miami Open Betting Tips & Predictions

What a time to be a tennis fan. After a jam-packed ten days of action in Indian Wells, the ATP Tour jumps straight over to Miami to do it all again over the next week and a half. Can Carlos Alcaraz roll on from his win on the weekend to complete the Sunshine Double? Or will Daniil Medvedev exact his revenge now that he knows what he’s up against? It seems like this tournament will again be a two-horse race, but can another player emerge from the woodwork and cause an upset?

ATP Miami Masters 2023: Tennis Event Details

After the battles at Australian Open and in the Middle East, it’s time to continue some high-quality tennis clashes in North America in 2023. Again, this Masters 1000 event has two glaring omissions – Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal. With these two greats out of the draw due to a travel restriction and injury (respectively), fascinating new rivalries are developing, such as that between Alcaraz and Medvedev.

However, it also presents opportunities for the likes of Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev, and Jannik Sinner to assert themselves too. Who will grab this week by the horns and be crowing our 2023 Miami Open champion? Read on to find out with all our expert ATP Miami Masters 2023 predictions.

2023 Miami Open Tennis Odds

Those who want to jump straight in and bet on the 2023 ATP Miami can see that the 2023 Miami Open tennis odds are significantly different from those for the Indian Wells Masters last week. Here’s how most legal US bookmakers are calling the event so far:

  • Carlos Alcaraz @ 2.75 (7/4)
  • Daniil Medvedev @ 3.75 (11/4)
  • Jannik Sinner @ 10.00 (9/1)
  • Stefanos Tsitsipas @ 15.00 (14/1)
  • Felix Auger-Aliassime @ 21.00 (20/1)

Off the back of his resounding victory in Indian Wells, Carlos Alcaraz has shifted to be the favorite at Miami, with odds of 2.75 (7/4). Just behind the Spaniard is the man he defeated in the final, Daniil Medvedev, on odds of 3.75 (11/4). These two are miles ahead of the rest of the pack, with Jannik Sinner the next closest at 10.00 (9/1), before Stefanos Tsitsipas and Felix Auger-Aliassime round out the top five at 15.00 (14/1) and 21.00 (20/1) respectively.

Understanding the Men’s Miami Open Tennis Tournament

Before we deliver our 2023 Men Miami Open predictions, here is a little context. This tournament is the second half of what’s known as ‘the Sunshine Double’ – twin Masters 1000 tournaments in Indian Wells and Miami. While they’re both played on hard courts, Miami has the faster courts of the two. However, the humidity of Miami causes the ball to move slower through the air, meaning it plays a little slower overall.

This Masters 1000 is played over ten days and will feature a 128-man draw, with the top 32 seeds getting a bye into the second round. This is also the last top event before the travel to European natural courts, and all the tennis fans waiting for the Roland Garros 2023.

Last Five Winners

  • 2017 – Roger Federer beat Rafael Nadal
  • 2018 – John Isner beat Alexander Zverev
  • 2019 – Roger Federer beat John Isner
  • 2021 – Hubert Hurkacz beat Jannik Sinner
  • 2022 – Carlos Alcaraz beat Casper Ruud

With Carlos Alcaraz in blistering form and needing to defend his title in order to maintain his No.1 ranking, can anyone stop the Spaniard? Read on for our tennis Miami 2023 betting tips for men’s event.

2023 Men Miami Masters Predictions

Enough context; let’s see these expert picks! Based on all of the latest stats, analysis, and professional insight, here are our top free tips for ATP Miami Open 2023:

Carlos Alcaraz to Win @ 2.75 (7/4)

Anyone that watched Carlos Alcaraz tear through the draw in Indian Wells will understand why this is our top pick for the Miami Open. The Spanish teenager played perhaps some of the best tennis of his short career, storming back to the World No.1 spot in the rankings and claiming his third ATP Tour Masters title in the process. It’s hard to see how he wouldn’t do the same again in Miami.

Tellingly, Alcaraz’s last three matches in Indian Wells were against three of the top-five favorites here in Miami. In his quarterfinal, Alcaraz dispatched Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-4, 6-4. Then in the final four, Alcaraz out-hit Jannik Sinner, 7-6(4), 6-3, before saving his best for last and decisively put an end to Daniil Medvedev’s 19-match winning streak with a 6-3, 6-2 exhibition. The question is: Who can stop Alcaraz? We say no one, and this 2.75 (7/4) bet is like taking candy from a baby.

Gael Monfils to Beat Ugo Humbert (First Round) @ 2.90 (19/10)

Surely, this will be Monfils’ last season on the ATP Tour. The veteran has led a fantastic career, reaching a career-high of No.6 and collecting 11 titles along the way. While he is undoubtedly winding up his career now at age 36, the Frenchman is still as athletic as ever and can pull incredible shots out of nowhere.

Up against a fellow compatriot in the first round, these are imbalanced odds, in our opinion. While Monfils is by no means a certainty to beat Ugo Humbert, it’s a match that feels at least 50/50, depending on which version of Monfils turns up. Take a 50/50 bet enough times at odds of 2.90 (19/10), and you’ll be a rich punter.

High Odds Predictions for the Miami Open 2023

Not interested in playing the long game with low-odds wagers? Don’t worry, we have some high-return men tennis betting in our betting preview as well. Here it is:

Casper Ruud to Win @ 41.00 (40/1)

Is Casper Ruud the most likely player to win the Miami Open 2023? No. Could he win it? Absolutely. Ruud is the current World No.4. In 2022, he won three titles while also making the French Open final and Nitto ATP Finals. This time last year, he made the final of the Miami Open. He’s no slouch when it comes to playing tennis.

And yet, Ruud is paying huge odds of 41.00 (40/1) to win the tournament this year. That’s because he’s had a slow start to the year, winning only four matches and losing five. The rich form that Norway’s No.1 was showing just a few months ago hasn’t been seen so far in 2023. However, when he made the final of the Miami Open last year, he was also looking patchy, having lost to Nick Kyrgios and Alexander Bublik in the preceding weeks. Could Ruud again kickstart his year in Miami?

  • Carlos Alcaraz to Win @ 2.75 (7/4)
  • Gael Monfils to Beat Ugo Humbert (First Round) @ 2.90 (19/10)

Tennis fans online betting lovers get to watch the world’s best go at it again over the next ten days as the Miami Open sees the second half of ‘the Sunshine Double’ unfold. Plenty of players will fancy themselves to be the ones holding the trophy next Sunday, but it’s hard to see it being any other than Carlos Alcaraz. Or will Casper Ruud wake up on the ATP Tour 2023 and rewrite the script from last year?
