Two of the four Grand Slam events are over, as Aryna Sabalenka won the Australian Open and Iga Swiatek won Roland Garros, and we are going into the third Grand Slam at Wimbledon. Marketa Vondrousova is the defending champion after upsetting Ons Jabeur for the title last year.
WTA Wimbledon Championship 2024 Key Dates & Info
Wimbledon announced the early 2024 participant list last month, and most of the top female players are included. The Championships start on July 1 and conclude on July 14. Wimbledon is the only Grand Slam that is played on grass surfaces, and it will be played at the England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club as usual. There have been seven different women’s champions in the last seven editions, so it’s always an unpredictable event.
Women’s Wimbledon 2024 Outright Winner Odds
Here are the odds for who will win the WTA Wimbledon Championship Grand Slam this year:
- Aryna Sabalenka @ 4.0 (3/1)
- Iga Swiatek @ 5.0 (4/1)
- Elena Rybakina @ 5.50 (9/2)
- Coco Gauff @ 9.50 (17/2)
- Naomi Osaka @ 15.0 (14/1)
The best Wimbledon sportsbooks have Aryna Sabalenka as the early favorite to win the championship. The Belarusian tennis player has reached the semifinals of Wimbledon in two of the last three editions, but she didn’t look that well in her loss to Mirra Andreeva at Roland Garros last week. Iga Swiatek has won her fifth Grand Slam by winning the French Open, so she will be going into this event with confidence, even though she has never gone past the quarterfinals at Wimbledon.
Elena Rybakina is the 2022 Wimbledon champion, which was her first and only Grand Slam title so far. She has the experience to win this event again, but she will need to bring her form from two years ago back. Coco Gauff has reached the semifinals in both Grand Slam events this year and lost them. Grass courts aren’t her best surfaces, as she has never been past the fourth round at Wimbledon.
The four-time Grand Slam winner Naomi Osaka had a very strong showing against Iga Swiatek early in Roland Garros, and she is coming back to her best form bit by bit. The Japanese player is expected to go far in Wimbledon, but it would still be a big surprise if she wins the event.
