Women’s Miami Open 2024 Winner Odds Update & Semi-Finals Preview
The 2024 WTA Miami Open has been an entertaining event so far. Iga Swiatek can’t complete the Sunshine Double anymore after getting knocked out. Petra Kvitova couldn’t participate in this tournament either, so we will get a new champion this year. The Women’s Miami Open semi-finals will be played today, Thursday, March 28.
A Lot of Surprising Upsets in the 2024 Women’s Miami Open Tournament
The biggest upset in the event was definitely Iga Swiatek losing to Ekaterina Alexandrova in the fourth round, especially in straight sets. The No. 2 ranked female tennis player, Aryna Sabalenka, also lost in a huge surprise in the third round to Anhelina Kalinina. The WTA Miami Open has a lot of surprises this year, and anyone can win the title. Elena Rybakina will face Victoria Azarenka, while Danielle Collins will clash with Ekaterina Alexandrova in the semi-final matchups.
WTA Miami Open 2024 Outright Winner Odds
Here are the updated odds for who will win the Women’s Miami Open tournament this year:
- Elena Rybakina @ 2.66 (2/3)
- Danielle Collins @ 5.50 (9/2)
- Victoria Azarenka @ 6.0 (5/1)
- Ekaterina Alexandrova @ 6.50 (11/2)
Elena Rybakina is the only player remaining among the top five favorites before the start of the tournament. Rybakina is in great form, winning 14 of her last 15 matches. She has won two WTA 1000 events before and went to the WTA Miami Open Final last year, so her winning chances are really good. Danielle Collins was the favorite in all five of her matches at this year’s Miami Open. She has only dropped one set so far and is in good shape to reach the final.
Victoria Azarenka is the only player among the semifinalists to win this event before, as she has won three WTA Miami Open titles in her career. Azarenka couldn’t beat Rybakina in any of their three head-to-head matches, so she will be an underdog in their matchup. Ekaterina Alexandrova beat Jessica Pegula and Iga Swiatek back-to-back in the last two rounds. She is playing incredibly well in this tournament and can’t be underestimated.
