The 17-year-old dart player Luke Littler is having a great start to the year, as he surprised everyone by reaching the 2024 PDC World Darts Championship finals in his debut, but lost to Luke Humphries in the end, and then he came back to win the 2024 Bahrain Darts Masters. He became the youngest player to score a perfect nine-darter in this competition. He is also the current PDC World Youth Champion.

Ronnie then proceeded to win the 2024 World Grand Prix. The professional cyclist Mark Cavendish is the only previous SPOTY winner among the top five favorites, as he won the award in 2011.
Jude Bellingham hit the ground running at Real Madrid, as he is the team’s top scorer in La Liga and the Champions League this season. He is probably the best football player in the world right now, and his winning chances depend on the 2024 UEFA EURO competition, just like Harry Kane.
