Betting Odds for the BAFTA 2024 Leading Actor Award
The 77th edition of the BAFTAs is set to be held on Sunday, February 18, at the Royal Festival Hall in London, England. We had some interesting movies last year, so this should be a fun show. Oppenheimer’s Cillian Murphy is the clear favorite to win the BAFTA’s Best Leading Actor Award this year.
The Announcement of the 2024 Nominations for the BAFTA Awards
BAFTA announced the 2024 full list of nominations earlier in January, as Oppenheimer had the biggest share with 13 nominations. David Tennant will host the show for the first time. There are six nominees for the BAFTA Best Leading Actor Award this year, and they are Cillian Murphy, Paul Giamatti, Bradley Cooper, Barry Keoghan, Teo Yoo, and Colman Domingo.
BAFTAs 2024 Best Actor in a Leading Role Odds
Here are the odds for which leading actor will win the 77th BAFTA Award:
- Cillian Murphy – Oppenheimer @ 1.16 (1/6)
- Paul Giamatti – The Holdovers @ 5.0 (4/1)
- Bradley Cooper – Maestro @ 11.0 (10/1)
- Barry Keoghan – Saltburn @ 23.0 (22/1)
- Colman Domingo – Rustin @ 41.0 (40/1)
Cillian Murphy is the big favorite to win the BAFTA award this year, and he is also at the top of the list of favorites to win the 2024 Oscar Award. Murphy was great in Oppenheimer, and if he wins here, it will be fully deserved. This is the first BAFTA nomination for Paul Giamatti, and it is for his special role in The Holdovers. Giamatti is the biggest threat to Murphy in this category.
Bradley Cooper is not only nominated for the Best Leading Actor category but also for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay. He has 11 BAFTA nominations in his career and only one win so far. Barry Keoghan won his first BAFTA award last year for his role in The Banshees of Inisherin as a supporting actor. This is the first-ever BAFTA nomination for Colman Domingo, but he won’t have many winning chances.
