The 2024 Genesis Invitational Tournament will be the third signature event of the year, as 71 of the top golf players will compete in this year’s edition. The total purse for this event is equal to $20 million, as the winner gets $4 million in addition to 700 FedEx Cup points. Scottie Scheffler is currently the favorite to win the event.
The Genesis Invitational event will run from February 15–18, 2024, and it will be held at the Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles, California. Tiger Woods announced his return to the Genesis Invitational Tournament, which will be his first PGA Tour event in 2024. A lot of other golf stars, like Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth, Xander Schauffele, Patrick Cantlay, Collin Morikawa, and Viktor Hovland, will also participate in this tournament. Jon Rahm won the last edition of the Genesis Invitational, but he won’t participate this year after switching to the LIV Golf Tour.

Scottie Scheffler is the favorite to win the competition this year, according to the best golf bookmakers. He is the No. 1 ranked golfer on the PGA Tour, so he will be trying to get his first win in 2024. Rory McIlroy won the Dubai Desert Classic last month with style, but he didn’t do well in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am tournament, so he will try to bounce back with a good performance here.
Both Viktor Hovland and Xander Schauffele withdrew from the WM Phoenix Open last week, so they are fresh to play in the Genesis Invitational. Justin Thomas is in great form, as he was T3 in the American Express and T6 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am before that. Thomas historically performs well in this event but has never won it, so this is a good opportunity for him to win this time.
