After the big loss to Villarreal on Saturday, Xavi Hernandez announced his stepdown as Barca coach at the end of the 2023–24 season. The Spanish manager signed a contract extension until June 2025, but with the team’s current situation, Xavi decided to leave one year earlier. He has won La Liga and the Supercopa de Espana in the 2022–23 season with the Blaugrana, but the team is currently struggling in fourth place in the league.

The Germany national team sacked Hansi Flick a few months ago, and he is currently without a club. Roberto De Zerbi has his name linked to many clubs around the world, as he is doing a very good job with Brighton in the Premier League. Jürgen Klopp will also leave Liverpool at the end of the season, so he might be an option for Joan Laporta to bring to the Camp Nou.
