Overall 2022 Champion of Champions Snooker Betting Odds

For those who love to bet on snooker, here’s a look at the overall outright odds for the favourites to win the 2022 Champion of Champions:

  • Neil Robertson @ 4.50 (7/2)
  • Ronnie O’Sullivan @ 4.50 (7/2)
  • Mark Selby @ 6.50 (11/2)
  • Judd Trump @ 6.50 (11/2)
  • Zhao Xintong @ 11.00 (10/1)

Looking at the best UK bookmakers, it’s clear that this will be a tightly contested tournament. The two favourites, Robertson and O’Sullivan, are tied on 4.50 (7/2), while Selby and Trump are also level, just behind at 6.50 (11/2). Understanding the Champion of Champions

Before you bet on the Champion of Champions snooker tournament, it’s important to understand how the event works and a little history of the competition.

This will be the 12th Champion of Champions event, with the first in 1978. It functions as an invitational tournament, with previous winners of tournaments from the last year invited to compete. Other players may be invited based on the world ranking, with 16 contestants making up the draw in a straight knockout format.

Here’s who has won the tournament recently:

  • 2017 — Shaun Murphy
  • 2018 — Ronnie O’Sullivan
  • 2019 — Neil Robertson
  • 2020 — Mark Allen
  • 2021 — Judd Trump

With four of the past five champions competing in the 2022 Champion of Champions, expect a fiery affair over the next seven days.

Snooker Champion of Champions Predictions 2022

Looking ahead to next week’s tournament, plenty of excellent betting opportunities exist across live betting websites. Here are three of our expert picks:

Ronnie O’Sullivan to Win Outright @ 4.50 (7/2)

Any punter would be remiss not to include Englishman Ronnie O’Sullivan in their considerations when looking to bet on the Champion of Champions.

O’Sullivan has won this tournament a record three times, and there’s a good chance he’ll make it a fourth in 2022. A quarter of the time that the Champion of Champions is played, O’Sullivan wins it. As the world’s No.1 ranked player in snooker right now and coming into this event off the back of a strong win at the 2022 Hong Kong Masters earlier this week, O’Sullivan is perfectly placed to add to his trophy cabinet.

The 46-year-old is a joint-favourite to win on odds of 4.50 (7/2).

Judd Trump and Ronnie O’Sullivan to Be Finalists @ 11.00 (10/1)

If Ronnie O’Sullivan is looking to make a run to the title here, he may have to get past the defending champion Judd Trump in the final.

With the world No.3 and 2021 Champion Judd Trump seeded second in this tournament, the two men are guaranteed not to meet each other until the final if they win according to their seeding. With odds of 11.00 (10/1) for these two to be the finalists, this is an exceptional return for what is quite a conservative betting line to take.

Winner to Be From Anywhere But England @ 3.25 (9/4)

If you don’t like the sound of two Englishmen dominating either side of the draw until one of them wins in the final, then perhaps this bet is for you.

Bookies offer odds of 3.25 (9/4) for the Champion of Champions winner to come from anywhere but England. With the third, fifth, seventh, and eighth seeds in this year’s tournament hailing from other countries, this is a healthy bet. Leading the charge would be world No.2 Neil Robertson, who has previously won this event in 2015 and 2019 while making the final in 2020.

2022 Snooker Champion of Champions – Bonus Pick

If you’re after a slightly higher risk and return bet, then here’s our bonus pick for you to bet on next week:

Nationality of the Winner to be Scottish @ 12.00 (11/1)

This is a fancy way of saying you think world No.5 John Higgins will pick up his second Champion of Champions title.

The Scotsman has had a long wait between drinks at this tournament, last claiming the crown in 2016. Last year he came agonizingly close, losing in the final 10-4 to Judd Trump, and will be motivated to go one step further this year. Drawn in a tough pool alongside Mark Selby, Higgins would have to beat Trump in a semifinal, most likely if he’s to pull off a win next week.

With lucrative odds of 12.00 (11/1) offered even by reliable betting sites, betting on last year’s runner-up to improve this time isn’t the worst idea in the world.

Champion of Champions 2022 Expert Picks

  • Ronnie O’Sullivan to Win Outright @ 4.50 (9/2)
  • Judd Trump and Ronnie O’Sullivan to Be Finalists @ 11.00 (10/1)
  • Nationality of the Winner to be Scottish @ 12.00 (11/1)

Looking at the bookies’ odds ahead of next week’s tournament, it seems like this event is Ronnie O’Sullivan’s to lose. Regardless of who wins the Champion of Champions, fans will be treated to an excellent week of professional snooker.
