2023 Memorial Tournament Betting Odds, Tips & Predictions (PGA Tour 2022/23, June 1-4)

Less than a fortnight after the conclusion of the year’s second Major, the 2023 Memorial Tournament will commence with a loaded field. With the top six men on the PGA Tour all lining up in Dublin, Ohio, this Thursday, the competition will be fierce as the best in golf fight it out for their share of the $20 million prize pool.
Key Info About the 2023 Memorial Tournament
Scottie Scheffler heads into this event as the man in form, sitting atop the rankings with two titles as well as three consecutive top-five finishes, including the latest T2 at PGA Championship. However, this will be no easy win for Scheffler, as Rahm and McIlroy will be motivated to close the gap on their rival, having recorded some poor results recently.
Add in an in-form Viktor Hovland, plus Patrick Cantlay’s past success on this course, and the 2023 Memorial Tournament is sure to be a tightly contested affair. We break down the latest odds and deliver our 2023 Memorial Tournament golf betting tips.

Understanding the Memorial Tournament 2023
The Memorial Tournament was founded in 1976 by esteemed golfer Jack Nicklaus and has been played ever since. Most notably, it is one of only five tournaments on the PGA Tour to have invitational status, meaning a smaller field of 120 players instead of the usual 156. The event also has more freedom in determining who is allowed to participate and does not offer to qualify.
Last Five Winners of the Memorial Tournament
- 2018 — Bryson DeChambeau beat An Byeong-hun/Kyle Stanley
- 2019 — Patrick Cantlay beat Adam Scott
- 2020 — Jon Rahm beat Ryan Palmer
- 2021 — Patrick Cantlay beat Collin Morikawa
- 2022 — Billy Horschel beat Aaron Wise
With Patrick Cantlay winning two of the past four editions of this tournament, can the American complete his trifecta in Ohio? Or will Scottie Scheffler raise his first crown on this course? We answer these questions and more below with our golf PGA 2023 Memorial Tournament betting predictions.
2023 Memorial Tournament Golf Betting Tips
Love spicing up your golf by making a wager ahead of the first tee? Then we have the best Memorial Tournament 2023 betting picks for you. We’ve reviewed the latest US bookies for PGA and come up with these three expert picks:
Tip #1
Scottie Scheffler to Top Five @ 2.70 (7/4)
America’s Scottie Scheffler is hands down the most consistent man on the PGA Tour in the past six months. In fact, across his last 14 events, Scheffler has not finished worse than T12. He has 11 top-10 finishes for the season, eight top-five, and two titles. This kind of consistency is unheard of, and no other players even come close to the record of the 26-year-old right now.
While we don’t necessarily believe Scheffler will win the Memorial Tournament 2023 (more on this below), backing him to make the top five is an excellent bet. Simply put, he has a brilliant strike rate, making 8/14 top fives since October 2022. In his last three tournaments, Scheffler has placed T5, T2, and T2 – and there’s no reason to believe this pattern is about to change any time soon.
Tip #2
Patrick Cantlay to Win @ 11.00 (10/1)
Scheffler will likely have yet another strong tournament, but we say he’ll miss out to Patrick Cantlay this weekend. The world No.4 may not have won a title this season; however, he’s been there or thereabouts, making five top-five finishes in the 2022-23 PGA Tour.
What sways us regarding Cantlay is his track record, which started with a victory in 2019 and also took the 2021 Memorial Tournament. Cantlay loves to win here, and he’s done so twice on this course since 2019. The American shot -19 to win his first title here, only one shot off the course record. Coming into the Memorial Tournament 2023 off the back of a top 10 finish at the US PGA Championship, we say Cantlay is perfectly placed for a third title in Ohio.
Tip #3
Our Recommended Memorial Tournament 2023 Predictions
- Scottie Scheffler to Top Five @ 2.70 (7/4)
- Patrick Cantlay to Win @ 11.00 (10/1)
Golf fans are being treated to a smorgasbord of action in 2023, and the feast doesn’t appear to stop anytime soon, with plenty of supporters waiting for something valuable from Rory McIlroy. A stacked field featuring the top six men on the PGA Tour will begin the Memorial Tournament 2023 this Thursday. While a handful of players are genuine contenders, we say Patrick Cantlay will build on his US PGA Championship performance to claim his third title in five years here. Watch out for a stiff challenge from Scottie Scheffler, who seems incapable of having a bad week in 2023.
