Courtesy of her recent title at The Ascendant, world No 9 Hyo Joo Kim leads the betting favorites ahead of the Toto Japan Classic at 7.50 (13/2). The South Korean player has a healthy lead over the rest of the field, with her closest rival at 13.00 (12/1) in the form of China’s Xiyu Lin. Home hope Nasa Hataoka comes in next, joint third with both Jiyai Shin and Miyuu Yamashita on 17.00 (16/1) to round out the top five betting favorites.

Understanding the Toto Japan Classic 2023

Taking place every year since 1973, the Toto Japan Classic is a staple on both the US LPGA Tour and the Japan LPGA Tour. This year’s event will be played on the North Course of the Seta Golf Course, which is par 72 and 6,042 meters in length. With a $2,000,000 prize pool, this is one of the more lucrative events of the year.

Now for the good part, where we break down the Ladies PGA Toto Japan Classic 2023 betting odds and determine the best bets to make this week. We’ve looked at all the latest betting odds for ladies’ golf, and these are our top three Toto Japan Classic 2023 predictions:

It’s been a busy year for Nasa Hataoka, with mixed success. The Japanese player has competed in 21 events so far in 2023, making the cut in all but one of these. For her efforts, she’s earned 14 top-25 finishes, five top-10 finishes, and three top-five placements. A solid year, if not mind-blowing for the world No 10.

However, we say her season is about to get a whole lot better with her first title of 2023 at the Toto Japan Classic. Why? She’s in decent form and knows how to win here, having done so in 2018. With the rest of the field looking somewhat mercurial, Hataoka is the best bet to win in front of her home crowd this weekend.

Hyo Joo Kim Top Five Finish @ 2.50 (3/2)

One player who has had a brilliant season so far is Hyo Joo Kim. The 28-year-old will still be coming down from the high of winning The Ascendant earlier this month, but that wasn’t a one-off. This year, Kim has made six top-five finishes, with half of these coming in the last two months. The North Course this week is exactly the kind of terrain where the South Korean thrives, and we say she’s an excellent bet to place on the best cash-out betting sites to make a deep run here and bag yet another top-5 finish in 2023.

Ayaka Furue Top Five Finish @ 5.50 (9/2)

Another player that we predict will finish in the top five this weekend is Ayaka Furue. The Japanese native has nine top-10 finishes this season, but that’s not why we’re picking her to perform. It’s the nous she showed in 2021 when she went all the way and won the Toto Japan Classic that we say will serve her well this week.

Furue’s results this year have shown a few concerning trends around her inability to close out events, so backing her to win is not a good option. However, with odds of 5.50 (9/2) for her to place in the top five, this is an excellent bet.

The Toto Japan Classic 2023 takes place in Shiga, Japan, this week, with some of the best competitors on the LPGA Japan and LPGA Tours fronting up for their share of $2,000,000. We say it will be Nasa Hataoka who lifts the trophy here for the second time, edging out strong challenges by both Hyo Joo Kim and 2021 champion Ayaka Furue.
