These groups are only relevant for determining the season’s fixtures, as points will be collated in a unified standings table. The top four teams will then advance to the playoffs, with the No.1 and No.2 sides competing in a Qualifier 1 Final and the No.3 and No.4 teams playing an Eliminator Final.
The winner of the Eliminator will face the loser of Qualifier 1 in a Qualifier 2 Final, with the winner of Qualifier 2 playing the winner of Qualifier 1 in the Grand Final.

As the defending champions, the Gujarat Titans have to be in the equation for the title in the IPL 2023. With the brilliant captaincy of Hardik Pandya, there’s every chance that Gujarat will be real title contenders.
The Titans have a strong batting lineup, with an all-Indian opening pair, mature middle order, and plenty of fireworks as well. The only question is around the pace bowling attack, which is a little tentative, should any injuries strike. Josh Little and Mohammad Shami lead the attack, with Rashid Khan taking care of the spin – depth is a concern, however.

As the IPL’s most successful franchise with five titles to their name, the Mumbai Indians will be desperate to forget last season’s horror last-place finish. They’re well placed to do so this year, having made some good signings at the IPL 2023 auction, namely Australian all-rounder Cameron Green.
The biggest issue for Mumbai will be their bowling, as Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the IPL 2023. If Jhye Richardson or Jason Behrendorff have a big season, however, they could well be title contenders yet again.

After narrowly missing out on the playoffs last season, the Delhi Capitals will be eager not to make the same mistake this year. However, the loss of Rishabh Pant as a big-hitter and captain is a significant loss for Delhi, who will struggle to fill the void left by Pant.
The concern for Delhi is if their big top order fails to fire, they have a relatively unproven middle order. Even the presence of the recent T20 Cricket World Cup winner, Phil Salt, can hardly solve the issue. It feels as though their season largely pivots on the form of Warner, Shaw, and Marsh, who could carry them; or see them fall.
Delhi Capitals Prediction in IPL 16: Fifth
Could this be the year that the Royal Challengers Bangalore finally win the IPL? They’ve finished runners-up three times but have never in 15 years lifted the trophy. Yet again, they have a strong squad, but in previous years there has been little correlation between their firepower and results.
Bangalore have an imposing squad, with the experience of du Plessis and Kohli at the top, the firepower of Maxwell and Karthik, with the bowling nous of Hasaranga, Hazlewood, and Siraj. It’s hard to see them not making a deep run here unless the old RCB curse kicks in once more.

The Rajasthan Royals will be rueing their missed opportunities in the IPL 2022, which saw them fall at the final hurdle to the Gujarat Titans in the Grand Final. After winning the inaugural IPL season, the Royals are yet to add another title and will be desperate to do so this season.
With two in-form English batsmen, the Royals have some hope of a title this year. However, it feels as though their squad is missing a signing or two. They’ll certainly need opener Yashasvi Jaiswal to step up in the opening slot and the likes of Kuldeep Sen with the ball as well.

That’s right, this is it. The year that the Royal Challengers Bangalore finally win an IPL! After years of having great squads and underperforming, we say it will all come together for RCB in the IPL 2023.
Firstly, this is a much better team when Virat Kohli is focusing on his batting rather than captaining. Last year, under Faf du Plessis’ captaincy for the first time, RCB were excellent, making a deep run to the Qualifying 2 Final, which they narrowly lost. They have experienced and world-class openers in Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli, followed by middle-order firepower in Glenn Maxwell and Dinesh Karthik.
