Odds for the 2022 Breeders Cup
The best horse race bookies have compiled the odds for the Breeders’ Cup, and we take a look at the top favorites to emerge victorious in Lexington.
Flightline @ 1.50 (1/2)
Flightline is the favorite to win the Breeders’ Cup at Lexington. The American Thoroughbred horse won the Grade I Malibu Stakes in 2021 and the Pacific Classic in 2022. He achieved a rating of 139 — the highest ever rank awarded to a runner on the dirt. Flightline won the TVG Pacific Classic by a record 19½ lengths at Del Mar and can make it six wins from six in Keeneland.
Life Is Good @ 5.50 (9/2)
Life Is Good had his moments last year and can provide good competition to Flightline. The multiple Grade I winning American Thoroughbred racehorse is the winner of the 2022 Pegasus World Cup and the 2021 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile. Life Is Good was very close to winning the Dubai World Cup in March but finished fourth-placed. He has had good runs since then and should perform better in Lexington.
Epicenter @ 7.00 (6/1)
Before the odds were released, Epicenter was tipped by many to be the second favorite but he’s just behind Life Is Good at 6/1. He finished second in the 2022 Kentucky Derby and is one of the top-ranked three-year-olds of 2022. Epicenter was unlucky to lose the Kentucky Derby to Rich Stake but will fancy his chances at the Breeders’ Cup Classic.
Taiba @ 11.00 (10/1)
Although inexperienced, Taiba has a lot of promise ahead of the Breeders’ Cup. The 3-year-old colt has two stake wins — the 2022 Pennsylvania Derby (G1), and the 2022 Santa Anita Derby (G1), winning by 7½ lengths at Santa Anita Park. Trained by Bob Baffert, Taiba has improved massively since his first race, and his odds should be even lesser in this competition.
Rich Strike @ 26.00 (25/1)
Similar to his odds at the Kentucky Derby, Rich Stake is valued at a huge 20/1 to win this race. Rich Stake finished sixth in the Belmont Stakes and third in the Travers. He won the Kentucky Derby as an underdog, beating Epicenter, and punters might consider him a longshot bet on Breeders’ Cup 2022.

Breeders’ Cup 2022 Predictions
Main Prediction: Race Winner – Flightline @ 1.50 (1/2)
Flightline proved doubters wrong with his achievements on dirt. The perfect 5-for-5 colt has finished with a win in his last three Grade 1 races, and it would be unwise to bet against him at the Breeders’ Cup Classic. His speed records are quite impressive, and despite a slow start at the Malibu Stakes, Flightline emerged victorious by 11 ½ lengths. A race winner option on Flightline is the best.
Exacta – Epicenter to Finish behind Flightline @ 8.50 (15/2)
Although he is placed as the third favorite, Epicenter should provide stern competition to Flightline. He has had very good finishes in his career runs. Since his debut in September, Epicenter hasn’t finished worse than 2nd in nine events. Flightline is in top form and can edge out Epicenter in this classic, but an exacta bet on Epicenter to finish behind Flightline is a very good bet here.
Top 3 Finish – Taiba @ 5.50 (9/2)
Taiba was very brilliant in Pennsylvania, winning the $1 million Derby by three lengths. Taiba has two stake wins already this year and finished second in the Haskell Invitational at Monmouth in July. The chances of an upset win for Taiba aren’t ruled out but backing him to show at the Breeders’ Cup Classic is an interesting option.
