Two clear favorites exist at the 2023 Next Gen ATP Finals in the form of Arthur Fils and Dominic Stricker, at 3.75 (11/4) and 4.50 (7/2), respectively. These two have been on tour for several years now, and while Fils’ has a much higher ranking, both have taken big scalps in 2023.

Several others return medium odds in Jeddah, with Luca van Assche, Alex Michelsen, Hamad Medjedovic, and Luca Nardi all paying between 7.00 (6/1) and 8.00 (7/1) to win the tournament. Only Flavio Cobolli and Abdullah Shelbayh can be considered genuine dark horses, returning odds greater than 11.00 (10/1).

Despite this event being all about young, up-and-coming stars, Fils certainly feels like the senior statesman of the pack. The Frenchman has been professional since 2021 and is the favorite to win here in Jeddah for good reason. With almost twice the amount of ranking points as the next best player at the Next Gen ATP Finals and sitting at a career-high ranking of No. 36 in the world, Fils really is expected to win this week.

He comes to Saudi Arabia off the back of some mixed form. Early exits in Paris and Vienna were disappointing; however another ATP final appearance in Antwerp just over a month ago was very impressive by the 19-year-old. With wins over the likes of Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, and Tallon Griekspoor this season, expect Fils to make light work of his fellow 21-and-under this week.

High Odds Winner Prediction for the 2023 Next Generation ATP Finals

For those who are seeking for tennis Next Generation 2023 ATP Finals betting picks that are a little more lucrative than simply betting on the favorite, then here’s a juicier wager:

One player who heads to Jeddah in hot form is Alex Michelsen. The American comes to the Next Gen ATP Finals off the back of consecutive Challenger finals, one of which he won in Knoxville. While the likes of Arthur Fils and Dominic Stricker will certainly be feeling some pressure this week as players are expected to perform, Michelsen will have no expectations.

The 19-year-old has been a surprise package this season and has the potential to play freer tennis than the rest of the contestants. We saw in Newport what Michelsen can do when he gets on a roll, and Jeddah could well be a repeat.

Arthur Fils and Luca van Assche have both broken out of the shadows in 2023, as the two French teenagers expected to make it big on the ATP Tour. While Fils has kicked on and found more success, we expect that van Assche will be targeting this event as one to get one back over his fellow countrymen.

Placed in the Red Group, the Frenchman avoids both Fils and Stricker in group play. Expect him to capitalize on this and pass through the round-robin undefeated, booking his spot in the semi-finals.

The future of tennis is on display in Saudi Arabia this week as the Next Gen ATP Finals take place in Jeddah over the coming days. While eight men will be looking to stamp their mark on the season, we expect that it will be the reliable Arthur Fils who stands up to the expectation on his shoulders, but not without a tough challenge from compatriot Luca van Assche.
