The 68th edition of the Ballon d’Or will be held on October 28 in Paris, France. This is one of the strongest seasons for the award, as the winners of the previous editions were known by that time of the year, but Vinicius Jr. and Jude Bellingham are still competing in a two-horse race for the Golden Ball.
Many of the football fans believe that the winner of the 2024 Ballon d’Or won’t be out of Vinicius and Bellingham. Both of them have won the 23/24 Champions League with Real Madrid as well as the 23/24 La Liga title. Jude shined in the league with 19 goals and six assists, while Vini was more clutch in the UCL, scoring six goals and five assists.
The Ballon d’Or winner will most likely be decided after the next two tournaments, as Bellingham’s England are the favorites to win the 2024 Euro, and Vini’s Brazil are the favorites to win the 2024 Copa America as well, so their performances in those two events will be the decider.

The latest Ballon d’Or odds have Vinicius Jr. as the favorite to win the award. Interestingly, the Brazilian winger wasn’t in the top five Golden Ball favorites in the middle of the season in March, but he played a big role for Real Madrid in the UCL and La Liga in the end. Jude Bellingham’s odds haven’t changed much, from 5.0 (4/1) to 4.50 (7/2). The English midfielder has to have a strong showing in the Euros to increase his winning chances.
Kylian Mbappe and Harry Kane are tied for first in the 23/24 Champions League top scorers list, and they both have been excellent this season, but their winning chances won’t be that high. Toni Kroos has seen his odds get a great boost after his announcement that he will retire after the 2024 Euro. If Kroos wins the Ballon d’Or, he will be the first midfielder to win the award since Luka Modric in 2018.
