The 4th edition of the women’s golf Olympic event is expected to be an exciting one, with most of the top female players playing. The women’s competition will kick off on August 7 and end on August 10, and it will be played at the same course as the men’s event, Le Golf National, France. Nelly Korda is the defending women’s Olympic golf champion.
The full participant list of the 2024 women’s Olympic golf event has some of the best players in the world, so the competition for a medal will be very high. The two-time Olympic golf medalist, Lydia KO, is back and will try to win a third medal in a row. Nelly Korda made history earlier this year by winning five straight golf events, and she will be the favorite to win her second Olympic gold medal here. Atthaya Thitikul has had some promising results this year by winning the Dow Championship, and she had her first US Women’s Open Championship top-10 finish. Jin Young Ko is a two-time major winner and the third on the women’s world rankings, so she is definitely one of the favorites to win a medal for South Korea. Ayaka Furue won her first major at the 2024 Evian Championship this month, so she is in hot form and will be looking to bring a medal for Japan.
