Court Profile

It’s impossible to make 2024 WTA Finals tennis predictions without knowing about the court.

As per usual, the court at the WTA Finals is a hard court and this year it’s going to be indoors. Most of the time it is, but we’ve had some outdoor ones in recent years, notably in Mexico where the event was held in Cancun last year.

The court speed is unknown as this is the first edition of the event, but generally, the court speed is somewhat medium at the WTA Finals. It offers the best of both worlds, not too quick, not too slow, with lots of medium-length points and winners.

Aryna Sabalenka @ 2.60 (8/5)

Aryna Sabalenka is the top favorite to win the WTA Finals simply because she’s been very good lately. She dominated the North American hard court season and didn’t lose much of that form in China either.

If she brings her top tennis here, there is a very good chance that she wins the event, which is why she has the lowest 2024 WTA Finals odds.

Iga Swiatek @ 3.75 (11/4)

According to online bookies in Saudi Arabia, Swiatek is the second favorite largely because she’s been the best player in the world for big chunks of the year. She fell off a bit lately, which is why she’s only the second favorite to Aryna Sabalenka, but overall she is still a big candidate to win. Expect the Polish tennis sensation to be one of the most popular WTA Finals 2024 betting picks.

Coco Gauff @ 6.00 (5/1)

Coco Gauff is also one of the favorites, but mostly because she’s just a good player. She’s not been in form and likely won’t do much at the event. That said, it’s difficult to overlook a player of her caliber. She did manage to make the French Open semi-finals this year, so the Atlanta native could be a dark horse bet on 2024 WTA Finals tennis.

Qinwen Zheng @ 8.00 (7/1)

Zheng is a really solid player who has taken a step forward this year. The 2024 Paris Olympic gold medalist will be trying to make her first visit to the year-end championships memorable. That said, she is very streaky and unlikely to cause too many problems for the favorites.

Jessica Pegula @ 9.00 (8/1)

Even though her odds are rather large, we believe that Pegula could do lots of damage at the event because she tends to be somewhat consistent compared to the rest of the field. She has been playing her best tennis since late summer, so many tipsters are high on her potential in their tennis WTA Finals betting tips.

Elena Rybakina @ 9.00 (8/1)

Elena Rybakina is one of those players that could do something at the event, but she hasn’t played in a long time and that’s going to show. The Kazakh star had to battle through health and fitness issues to qualify for the competition, so we would highly recommend keeping an eye on her in Saudi Arabia.

Jasmine Paolini @ 22.50 (43/2)

Jasmine Paolini is a huge outsider here because, while she had an iconic season, she is not as good as these players and that will also show. However, it’s important to note that the Italian climbed an impressive 24 spots (30th to 6th) in the rankings within a year.

Barbora Krejcikova @ 34.00 (33/1)

Krejcikova has the biggest odds largely because she’s inconsistent. Even so, she’s shown to be capable of beating some of these players, so anything could happen. She is currently outside the top eight, but the Wimbledon champion still made the cut. How? She has won a major trophy this year and has maintained a top 20 berth (13).

Not one of the riskiest 2024 WTA Finals tennis predictions to make by any means! Sabalenka is very likely to win the event because she’s just been the best player in the past month and more. The only player that beat her recently is Karolina Muchova, and she’s not playing here.

She can play with Swiatek and the rest of the field shouldn’t be a huge problem either. She’s better than most of those players and very few have weapons to cause her harm from the baseline. It’s only really Swiatek, and she’s not been as good lately.

High Value Pick: Jessica Pegula @ 9.00 (8/1)

Jessica Pegula to Win

Jessica Pegula has been really good lately, and it mostly comes down to her being a super consistent player who can play well from the baseline. If she finds her best striking and gets a bit lucky with some matchups, then she could certainly win the event.

Surprises are not uncommon at this event, and who knows, maybe it’s finally time for Pegula to get her flowers by winning a super big event.

Sabalenka to Beat Zheng 2-0 @ 2.00 (1/1)

Zheng is an excellent tennis player, but her matchup with Sabalenka is very bad. She’s not a consistent server, which means that she will give Sabalenka lots of second serves. Those are both slower and weaker than her first ones and Sabalenka will pounce on them.

That’s basically half the job already, and now she only has to deliver on her own serve. She has been able to do that pretty well so far in their matchups. If we look at the head-to-head between these players, Sabalenka won three of the four matches in two sets. The most recent one was a three-setter but it was in China so that obviously skewed it a bit.

Overall, it should be a matchup that Sabalenka should win easily in two sets.

Paolini to Beat Rybakina @ 2.75 (7/4)

Paolini to Beat Rybakina

Now, this one mostly comes down to Rybakina not having played in a very long time. She’s had some injury problems recently and also dealt with some turmoil in her private life with her coach being suspended and her parting ways with him.

There seems to be a lot of things going on with her, so we’re going to try and back an upset here. Paolini is feisty, she is trying, and she can win this match. She beat her in the only match they played this year.

Aryna Sabalenka to Win

2.60 (8/5)

Paolini to beat Rybakina

You’ve seen our 2024 WTA Finals odds analysis and prediction, now it’s your turn. We say Sabalenka has been in excellent form, so it’s difficult not to envision her winning this trophy. Also, Paolini should be able to get the better of a Rybakina who is working her way back to top form.
