Understanding the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament
Before we dive into the 2025 tennis Indian Wells Open odds, a quick overview of the tournament. This event is colloquially known as the ‘fifth Grand Slam’. It’s almost as long (12 days), has almost as many players (96), and is renowned for its great atmosphere. With 1000 points on the line and just shy of $20 million in the prize pool, there’s plenty to play for.
Indian Wells Open History & Court Specifics
It’s crucial to understand a few specifics of this event before we bet on the 2025 Indian Wells Open tennis.
First, this has historically been one of the slowest, grittiest, most clay-court-like hardcourts of the year. However, the surface manufacturer has changed heading into 2025. Players are reporting that it’s still slow, but bear that in mind.
Second, conditions are dry, cool, and windy. This means the ball flies fast through the air, but things can get a little erratic. Generally, Indian Wells errs towards players who have physical games and doesn’t help big servers much.

ATP 2025 Tennis Indian Wells Odds
Here’s a look at what 2025 tennis betting sites have to say about the men’s favorites before we get into our 2025 ATP Indian Wells predictions:
Looking at the 2025 tennis Indian Wells Open odds, it’s clear that two-time defending champion Carlos Alcaraz is the player to beat in California this year. The Spaniard pays less than half what second-favorite Novak Djokovic does, sitting at just 3.00 (2/1) to win.
Djokovic and Alexander Zverev are tight second and third favourites at 7.50 (13/2) and 8.00 (7/1), respectively, with the German enjoying the top half of the draw to himself and Djokovic on course to play Alcaraz in the quarters.
Behind these two are Daniil Medvedev (12.00, 11/1) and Taylor Fritz (19.00, 18/1), who bookmakers view as outside chances at the title.

Now, what you’ve all been waiting for: our free tips for the 2025 Indian Wells Open. Here are the best bets to make in California over the next fortnight:
Carlos Alcaraz to Win Outright @ 3.00 (2/1)
2 (100%)
0
Predictable, yes. But still lucrative. It’s not an exciting pick backing Alcaraz to win his third-consecutive title here in the desert, but there’s good reason for expecting that’s exactly what will happen next Sunday.
The biggest hurdle the 21-year-old faces is a potential clash with Djokovic in the quarters. While this is a worry, given his loss to the Serbian at the same stage in Melbourne in January, we don’t think history will repeat itself.
Djokovic will be coming to Indian Wells with the bigger picture in mind this year: winning Grand Slams. The Sunshine Double presents a chance to keep up his match fitness and fine-tune his game, but there’s not really any motivation for him to go all out and win.
Increasingly, it’s motivation that dictates whether Djokovic turns up on the court or not. We say that with this spark removed, he will either not make the quarters or get rolled by Alcaraz. With Djokovic (and Sinner) out of the way, it’s hard to see anyone else stopping Alcaraz.

2025 WTA Indian Wells Open Odds
Ahead of our WTA Indian Wells 2025 betting picks, here’s a look at what US tennis betting apps pay for the top five title contenders in the women’s event:
The 2025 tennis Indian Wells Open odds for the women’s event have two clear favorites: Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek. It’s the world No 1 vs the defending champion. The pair’s odds are neck and neck, with Sabalenka marginally ahead at 4.33 (10/3) compared to Swiatek’s 5.00 (4/1).
Behind these two, 2023 champion Elena Rybakina sits on 8.50 (15/2), before a further drop to Coco Gauff at 11.00 (10/1). Teen Mirra Andreeva rounds out the top five, having just won her maiden WTA 1000 title in Dubai.
Women’s Indian Wells Predictions 2025
Without further adieu, here are our Indian Wells Open 2025 predictions for the women’s event:
Aryna Sabalenka to Win Outright @ 4.33 (10/3)
1 (50%)
(50%) 1
Backing the favorite again? Well, yes, but this one is far less clear-cut than the men’s event. We see Swiatek, Gauff, Rybakina, and Andreeva all as good bets to lift the trophy next weekend.
However, on the balance of probability, this tournament feels like Sabalenka’s to lose. The Belarusian has been in a slight rut of form since losing to Madison Keys in the final of the Australian Open, winning just one match across the Middle Eastern swing.
She’s world No 1 for a reason, however, and we expect she will have taken the time to collect herself and bounce back strongly here. The courts quickening up marginally only serves to help her and hinder Swiatek, who the bookies see as her main rival for the title. It’s a challenging bet, but with a rewarding payout of 4.33 (10/3), it’s our recommendation.
Paula Badosa to Make the Final @ 21.00 (20/1)
2 (100%)
0
Now to juicer markets. Paula Badosa has been a player on the rise for the past 12 months, and we predict that she will make a deep run in the desert this week.
The Spaniard is a former champion here in Indian Wells, taking out Victoria Azarenka for the title in 2021. She’s already blasted her way back into the top 10 this year after injuries saw her fall previously and made it all the way to the final four in Melbourne in January.
She also is lucky enough to avoid Sabalenka in the draw and could make a run to the final without having to play the tournament favorite. Given her odds of 21.00 (20/1) to make the championship match, that’s enough for us.
