Understanding the Australian Open Grand Slam Tennis Tournament
Before getting into the latest 2025 tennis Australian Open odds, a little context. The Australian Open is a Grand Slam, which means that it is as big as a tennis event gets. The men’s and women’s singles events will be played with 128-player draws, meaning the 2025 champion has to win seven consecutive matches to prevail.
Australian Open History & Court Specifics
There are a few factors that will impact the way we bet on 2025 Australian Open tennis. First, the conditions this year. The Australian Open is a hard-court tournament, which means it’s on the faster side of things. The court is also decently bouncy, unlike some other events, making rallies a delight to watch. The balls tend to favor more aggressive flat styles, such as that of Sabalenka, who has won two years in a row.
There is also the fact that it’s the first event and quite early in the season, which means there can be surprises. Lots of players haven’t yet found their form, which makes this a must-watch on the tennis calendar.

ATP 2025 Tennis AO Odds
Here’s a look at the latest Australian Open 2025 odds before we get into our betting tips:
If we look at the odds for the 2025 Australian Open, we can see that Jannik Sinner is at the top at 2.25 (5/4). This means he’s expected to win this tournament comfortably, and there is good reason for that. He’s been the best player in the world for over a year and showed last January that he can play dominant tennis in Australia.
The conditions suit him far more than they do for Alcaraz, who is second favorite at 4.50 (7/2). The odds for Alcaraz indicate that he’s a favorite but quite a clear step below Sinner. The same goes for Novak Djokovic, who pays 6.50 (11/2) but isn’t really expected to do much.
The rest of the top five – Alexander Zverev and Daniil Medvedev – are even less likely to win, which is accurately reflected in their odds of 11.00 (10/1) and 19.00 (18/1) respectively.
Men’s Australian Open 2025 Predictions
Now, what you’ve all been waiting for: our free tips for 2025 AO Championships. Here are the best bets to make in Melbourne over the next fortnight:
Jannik Sinner to Win @ 2.25 (5/4)
1 (50%)
(50%) 1
Sinner is the best player in the world right now. Sure, it’s the new season and he hasn’t really played many matches but there is nothing to suggest that his level suddenly evaporated from last year.
He utterly dominated the hard court circuit last year, winning 42 matches on the surface and losing only three. In fact, the only player who really gave him problems on hard courts last year was Carlos Alcaraz, as he beat him twice. But that’s the catch—Alcaraz has played pretty poorly in Australia so far, never making the semi-final. It’s very unlikely that he will suddenly turn the corner and start playing much better.
So essentially it almost looks like Sinner will have free rein when it comes to the Australian Open. The court plays exactly how he likes it. His game is arguably the strongest in the world right now, and his biggest rival who gave him problems last year, traditionally plays very poorly on these same courts. Everything is lining up really well for Sinner, and that’s why backing he’s top of our 2025 ATP AO predictions.
High Odds Winner Pick – Alex de Minaur @ 51.00 (50)
2 (100%)
0
Alex de Minaur had his best tennis season last year, reaching the ATP Finals which is proof that he was one of the best players in the world. That’s why backing him to win the event here isn’t so unrealistic. First of all, as a native player, he should enjoy massive support all the way through.
Secondly, he has the game for it. Not only is he really quick, which can be useful due to the somewhat higher bounce here, but he’s also playing the most aggressive tennis he’s ever played. Nobody would argue that he has the skill set of Sinner, but catching fire for about two weeks? That surely he can do.

2025 WTA Australian Open Odds
Ahead of our WTA picks, here’s a look at the 2025 tennis betting odds for the women’s event:
Similar to the men’s side, there is one player at the top whom the markets favor as the winner – Sabalenka at 3.25 (9/4), and then two players that are close, but a way back – Swiatek and Gauff, both at 5.50 (9/2). Then there are two more who could technically win it – Rybakina and Pegula – but their odds of 9.00 (8/1) and 15.00 (14/1) imply that the markets don’t really think it’s very likely to happen.
Women’s AO Predictions 2025
Without further adieu, here are our WTA AO 2025 betting picks:
Coco Gauff to Win @ 5.50 (9/2)
2 (100%)
0
Gauff is not the top favorite to win the Australian Open, but it’s very likely to happen for a couple of reasons. First of all, the American won the WTA Finals, beating some really stunning players along the way. That showed that she’s finally getting to a level where she’s comfortable beating some of the best players in the world.
She also made the semi-final last year, which proved that she can play well in Australia. Now, add to that even more experience and her improvement as a player compared to a year ago, and you’ve got a player who can very well go all the way to lift the trophy at the Australian Open.
Another positive is that she generally tends to rule Sabalenka quite a bit, and that’s her main rival for winning this trophy. If a final between them happens, Gauff would have the advantage.
High Odds Winner Pick – Danielle Collins to Win @ 101.00 (100/1)
1 (50%)
(50%) 1
When you’re looking at a surprise winner, you have to consider their ability to catch fire. In that sense, Danielle Collins is the perfect player. She showed last year that she can suddenly start playing really well. She also has a history of doing it at the Australian Open, making the final the year that Ashleigh Barty won it.
She has a massive serve, which helped her do it before, and she can do it again. She’s also a very strong baseline player with flat shots that work really well on a court like this. Overall, not that crazy.
