Inter Milan – 13/8

Inter Milan have been installed as 13/8 favourites to win the 2022/23 Serie A season, giving them the best chance of winning the domestic league. That is not surprising, although you could argue that the odds on Inter are a bit low.

The summer for Inter was mainly focused on shedding some overpaid reserve players, like Alexis Sanchez, Arturo Vidal, Andrea Ranocchia and Matias Vecino, who were all let go. Moreover, Aleksandar Kolarov has retired from football, which is big news, but it won’t affect Inter too much.

On the other side, Inter re-signed Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea, which will boost Inter’s attack significantly, but we wouldn’t expect to see the same Lukaku we did over the years. He will likely find Simone Inzaghi’s approach to coaching much different to Antonio Conte’s; this time, Lukaku won’t have Ivan Preisic on his flank.

This raises questions about whether Lukaku will be good enough to help Inter to reach the top. It might happen, but it’s a big IF, and his signing alone isn’t enough for us to see Inter Milan as the absolute favourites even though there is a chance Lukaku ends the season as Serie A top scorer.

Juventus – 21/10

Juventus are the second-favourites to win the title, priced at 21/10, which doesn’t look too far from the truth. Juventus head into the next season with a lot to prove, and we expect them to shift into higher gear within the first fixtures of the season.

Unfortunately, Juventus won’t be at 100% form from the season’s start date as Paul Pogba is expected to miss the first month of action with an injury. Still, Juventus has Angel Di Maria, who should add some quality to the frontline but still missing Frederico Chiesa.

Juventus has enough quality to compete for the trophy, but the question remains – will manager Max Allegri manage to get the team clicking? If he does, 21/10 looks like a good value, but much of Juventus’ success will depend on Gleison Bremer and how he’ll do in the defence, which has lost two key players in Matthijs de Ligt and Giorgio Chiellini.

AC Milan – 4/1

Despite winning Serie A last season, Italian Serie A 2023 title odds show AC Milan as the third-favourites to re-claim the Scudetto. Admittedly defending the title is harder than winning one, which will be obvious with AC Milan, who doesn’t look as potent this time.

That is largely due to the quiet transfer window in which the Rossoneri have not made any major signings. Still, AC Milan has added some depth to the squad with the additions of Divock Origi and Charles De Katelaere. Having failed to improve their squad as much as AC Milan’s main competitors is a handicap, as is the departure of Franck Kessie, which Milan will have to overcome.

Roma – 13/2

Serie A outright winner odds for 2022/23 show AS Roma as the fourth favourites to win the title at 13/2, which is quite interesting. Sitting behind the big three clubs, AS Roma enters the new season with confidence and mustn’t be overlooked.

After winning the UEFA Conference League trophy last season, Roma could be an interesting underdog and one of the most exciting Italian Serie A 2022/23 betting tips you could add to your wagering sheet.

Over the summer, Roma parted ways with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Jordan Veretout but have made big signings in Paulo Dybala and Nemanja Matić. They could be vital pieces to Jose Mourinho’s plan. The duo will be joined by Gigi Wijnaldum, who will further strengthen the squad, and with Rui Patricio in the goal, Roma looks like they have a title-winning team.

Napoli – 20/1

If you’re looking for bold 2022/23 Serie A table predictions, betting on Napoli to outperform Roma, Juventus, Inter, and Milan might be for you. But unless you plan to use and try free bets, we advise against betting on Napoli to win the title.

The club has not made enough improvements ahead of the next season to compete with the top four teams, and while they might outperform at least one of the top dogs, we would not look at Napoli as a solid pick. Napoli might be an exciting pickup on the 2022/23 Serie A top 4 odds, but anything beyond that is wishful thinking.

Time and Date of the Competition

The 2022/23 season of Serie A will kick off on Saturday, August 13 and run until Sunday, June 4, 2023. It will mark the 121st season of top-tier Italian football, the 91st season in a round-robin format, but only the 13th season since its organisation under its league committee (the Lega Serie A).

The 2022/23 season will welcome 20 football clubs from 17 cities, including Lecce, Cremonese, and Monza, who got promoted to Serie A. Lecce returned to the top flight after 2 years, while Cremonese after 26 years. On the other side, Monza was promoted to Serie A for the first time in the club’s history.

AC Milan To Win Serie A – 4/1

Even though AC Milan looks weaker heading into the 2022/23 season, the defending Italian champions look like a good value and one of the best 2022/23 Serie A table predictions we can take at the current odds. Even though Milan has not made as many big singings as Inter or Juventus, they have improved the depth of the squad, so assuming they can emulate their performance from last season, Milan should be in the race to finish on top.

Moreover, Inter and Juventus – while they look much better on paper – have many question marks above them. For example, will Lukaku be as good as many believe he will, and will Pogba manage to recover to help Juventus compete for the title fully? Perhaps, but this doesn’t explain why AC Milan is priced as high as 4/1.

AS Roma To Win Serie A – 13/2

A longshot bet, but a good one in our book. AS Roma has everything, they need to compete for the Serie A title – a great manager and a very solid squad. On paper, they look slightly less compelling than Milan, Inter, and Juventus, but relative to the odds we’re getting, AS Roma are good value.

So if you’re online betting on Serie A winner 2023 and are looking for a longshot pick, AS Roma is an excellent choice. In our book, Mourinho’s squad is a bit underrated.

AS Roma Top 4 Finish – 10/11

We don’t need to write a full betting guide to explain why we also like AS Roma to finish top four at 10/11. This squad has the potential to compete for the Serie A title, and even if they fail to reach for it, a top-4 finish shouldn’t escape Roma.

Mourinho has put together a very solid, well-rounded team, which might not have as many star names as Inter, Milan, or Juventus, but it has no clear weaknesses. No matter how we look at it, Roma might be weaker than the top 3 favourites, but they’re better than the rest, making them an excellent pick to finish top 4, with very generous 2022/23 Serie A top 4 odds.

Empoli To Be Relegated – 7/4

Empoli is not one of the main favourites to get relegated, but they perhaps should be. Empoli lost 2 key players this summer in Mattia Viti and Kristjan Asllani, which is a huge blow for the team that wasn’t expected to have a good time in Serie A regardless. Moreover, Empoli lost coach Aurelio Andreazzoli, who helped the club survive last season, and without him, there is no telling how good Empoli would be.

To replace Andreattoli, Empoli appointed Paolo Zenetti, which was a strange move since Venezia sacked him in April after eight straight losses. His track record isn’t the best and is just another reason for concern.

And if that is not enough, Empoli had one of the best defensive records in the league last term which likely won’t improve. Empoli has an unenviable record of rarely staying in the top flight for long – having been promoted to Serie A seven times and relegated within three years of each promotion.

Ciro Immobile Top Goalscorer – 9/2

Ciro Immobile to end the season as the top goalscorer might sound like a bold prediction, but he has done it before – 4 times to be exact. He won the golden boot twice in the last three seasons, scoring 83 goals across 103 games, which is seriously impressive.

Moreover, Lazio was Serie A’s second-highest scoring team under Maurizio Sarri last season, and there is nothing that would suggest Lazio will be any different this season. Immobile also has the benefit of missing the World Cup (unlike other frontrunners), which only adds to his value as a potential top goalscorer of the season.

Serie A 2022/23 Predictions – Bonus Pick

We end our Serie A betting preview with a longshot bet on Francesco Caputo to finish the year as the top goalscorer at 66/1. Sampdoria forward scored 11 goals in 36 games last season, which isn’t great, but Samptodia has all the tools the 34-year-old needs to cause some damage.

But we’ll play it safe and take an each/way bet, which secures us 3 places.

Prediction: Francesco Caputo top goalscorer – 66/1 (each/way)
