The Romanian SuperLiga returns once again after an exciting last season, with Farul Constanta to be the defending champions. The 2023-24 season will be the 106th edition of the Liga I tournament held by Liga Profesionista de Fotbal. The competition runs from July 14th, 2022, to June 2nd, 2024, and it will be the ninth year with the play-off and play-out rules.
Liga Profesionista de Fotbal decided to start the Romanian SuperLiga 2023/24 season on July 14, 2023, and end on June 2, 2024. The event is played all across Romania and consists of the regular season, the play-off, and the play-out stages. Farul Constanța are the defending champions, as they won both the regular season and the championship playoffs. The Liga I tournament consists of 16 teams, and each team plays 30 matches in the regular season with further play-off and play-out rounds.

Then points are halved, and the top 6 teams continue with 10 games in playoffs (double round-robin). The bottom 10 teams participate in the play-out round and play nine games each (single round-robin), giving a wide room for prematch and online betting activity.
The last two teams from Liga I get relegated directly, while the 13th and 14th teams play against the 3rd and 4th clubs from Liga II in a playoff-style game for relegation.
