Rangers FC and Hearts are set to face off on Saturday, May 21, in the 2021/22 Scottish Cup final in what promises to be an exciting affair. Although it’s hard to say what will happen on the weekend, the teams’ Scottish Premiership fixture from this week serves as an excellent form guide and rehearsal for the upcoming clash, giving us a better idea of what to expect.

Rangers FC won that fixture 3-1, explaining why they’re priced as the favourites on the Rangers vs. Hearts odds markets. Still, even though the Scottish Cup final odds for 2022 clearly show which squad should come out ahead, there are plenty of excellent betting opportunities for us to explore.

This betting preview will provide you with 4 expert betting picks and all the information you’ll need to make smart decisions when betting on Scottish Cup Final 2022.

Rangers FC vs. Hearts Predictions & Odds

Odds on Rangers vs. Hearts in the Scottish Cup final show Rangers FC as 4/9 favourites, Hearts as 11/2 underdogs, while the draw is priced at 10/3. So if the offered odds are correct, Rangers FC is most likely to win the Scottish League Cup, while there’s about a 23% chance of a draw.

Rangers FC -1.0 Goals – 4/5

It’s very rare to see a one-sided score in cup finals, but there is no denying that Rangers FC has been a much better team throughout this season. And not only have Rangers proven to be a class above Hearts relative to their performance against other Scottish clubs, but Rangers also hold Hearts’ numbers with a 3-0 head-to-head record across the last 3 meetings.

Most notably, Rangers FC crushed Hearts last weekend, when they emerged as the winner by 3-1. Admittedly, Hearts scored once to make it a bit more interesting, and they had their fair share of highlights, but it was all Rangers FC on the day.

For the rematch, it’s only fair to expect a similar outcome. Hearts should fight, and we don’t expect them to roll over and die. But their recent showings have left a lot to be desired, making it hard to justify a bet on the underdogs.

Based on what we have seen from Rangers FC and Hearts, the favourites should justify their tag as the better team, so we kick off our 2021/22 Scottish Cup final betting tips with a bet on Rangers FC to win at least one goal to spare.

Both Teams to Score – 4/5

This game is Rangers FC’s to lose, but even though we expect the favourites to come out ahead, there is a good chance Hearts will find the back of the net at least once. They did it the last time they met with Rangers FC and have scored at least once in their previous 3 outings.

Moreover, the 2021/22 Scottish Premiership ended with 54 goals to their name, which is still substantially below Rangers (80) and the champions, Celtics (92). Nevertheless, at 54 goals, Hearts have averaged 1.4 goals per game.

If we compare the stats, Rangers FC is a significantly stronger team and should win with plenty to spare. But their defence is not as sturdy as some may believe, seeing how they have conceded against Hearts, Ross County, and Motherwell across their last 10 outings.

For Hearts to do some damage on the weekend, they will have to count on their top goalscorer Liam Boyce to show up. But it’s not like they don’t have a goalscoring threat elsewhere in Kevin van Veen, who has netted 9 goals this season.

Over 3.5 Goals – 13/8

We will add a bet on over 3.5 goals to our Rangers vs. Hearts betting tips list as a bet that works off what was said above. Rangers FC has proven to be the superior team this season, and we have no reason to doubt their ability to win with at least one goal to spare, but while Rangers FC should come out ahead, they won’t be immune to Heart’s firepower.

Last time out, we saw 4 goals, and since not a lot has changed since, there’s a good chance we will see a similar fixture play out this weekend. Moreover, there have been at least 4 goals in the last 2 meetings between Rangers FC and Hearts, which further confirms we can expect a few goals to land on Saturday.

Rangers FC: Heavy Favourites

It’s no surprise seeing Rangers FC priced as 4/9 favourites for this fixture, as there is very little to suggest that they can’t claim their 34th Scottish Cup title. And even though we should consider Rangers FC as the better team regardless of whether the 2 squads would have met lately, we have a Scottish Premiership game that happened last weekend as a solid form guide.

Rangers and Hearts already met on Saturday, May 14, when Rangers won 3-1, marking their third consecutive head-to-head win against the Hearts. Interestingly, Rangers FC is 3-1-1 in the head-to-head against Hearts, but they emerged as the winners in the last 3 outings, with 2-0. 5-0, and 3-1.

Admittedly, Rangers FC failed to win the Scottish Premiership, so they’re technically not the best Scottish football club. With 3 days between the 2 title games, Rangers should have plenty of time to rest, and as he has done throughout the season, van Bronckhorst will do everything to keep the players fresh.

Last 5 Games

  • Eintracht Frankfurt 1-1 Rangers (Frankfurt win 5-4 on penalties)
  • Hearts 1-3 Rangers FC
  • Rangers FC 4-1 Ross County
  • Rangers 2-0 Dundee Utd
  • Rangers 3-1 RB Leipzig

Hearts: The Underappetiated Underdogs

Hearts have been enjoying an exceptional season in the Scottish Premiership. The Edinburgh-based squad has long been confirmed as the third-best team in the league, which is impressive for their first year back in the top-tier of Scottish football.

But even though the Hearts deserve some praise for their achievements over the year, you can’t say that the odds on Rangers vs. Hearts in the Scottish Cup final are unfair. Hearts are a solid team, but they have yet to show anything that would suggest that they’re better than Rangers FC, especially with their recent showings.

Hearts have not only lost all of their last 3 head-to-head meetings with Rangers but are also winless across their last 4 outings. That includes a draw against Ross County (0-0), and 3 defeats against Celtics (1-4), Motherwell (1-2), and Rangers (1-3).

The team’s recent slump is concerning, and it makes it hard to justify adding Hearts to our Rangers FC vs. hearts predictions list as a longshot pick. Still, the Edinburgh squad has shown some brilliance throughout the season, so the question remains – can Robbie Neilson‘s side find their old form in time to compete with the Rangers?

Rangers FC vs. Hearts – Bonus Prediction

We end our Rangers vs. Hearts betting tips with a longshot bet on the correct score market, on Rangers FC to win 3-1. They beat Hearts with this same score last weekend, and even though it might sound unlikely to see a repeat score this time out, at 11/1, this is a bet worth taking.
