This week, the PGA tour returns to Pebble Beach, California, one of its most iconic venues. This event also marks a highly anticipated return for Scottie Scheffler and Jordan Spieth. As the second Signature Event of the season, this tournament will feature a strong line of golfing stars. This four-day tournament is the fifth of the season. It commences on January 30 and concludes on February 2. For those who may not know, this tournament is the second of five no-cut events in the PGA Tour’s Signature series this season. The tournament will feature 81 players, all competing for a share of the $20 million prize pool.

The inaugural AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am was held in 1937 as a modest 18-hole event. As its popularity grew, additional rounds were introduced. Within two decades, the tournament evolved into a full 72-hole tournament. Since 1947, the Pebble Beach Pro-Am has usually occurred on three courses. While the lineup has varied over the years, the current courses are Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill Golf Course, and Monterey Peninsula Country Club.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler enters the tournament with the best PGA 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am odds. The American is back from injury and is set to make his first appearance of the year at this event. While Scheffler finished sixth here last year, he performed exceptionally well at other PGA tournaments. He won seven PGA events in 2024, including the Travelers Championship, the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard, and THE PLAYERS Championship. He also won the gold medal at the Olympics in France last year. Eager to secure his first win of 2025, Scheffler will be ready to compete fiercely in this contest.
Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy had a reasonably successful year in 2024. He won four events during the past year, two of which were the 2024 Wells Fargo Championship and the 2024 Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Rory enters this contest after his fourth-place finish at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic in Dubai. With an opportunity to build on his performance from last year, Rory will look to secure his first PGA title of the season in California.
Despite finishing T14 at last year’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Collin is considered the third likely contender to win this year. His rise in prominence is mainly due to his performance at The Sentry 2025 tournament, where he claimed second place behind Hideki Matsuyama. Having participated in one tournament this year, Collin will be eager to compete in this event. With his last PGA Tour win coming during the 2022-23 season, he must be at his best to secure a victory in this tournament. Collin’s 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Championship odds are 15.00 (14/1).
Currently ranked 14th among the world’s top golfers, Justin Thomas enters this contest with much to prove. The American has not secured a PGA tournament win since the 2021-22 season. He has finished third twice: first at the Hero World Challenge during the 2022-23 season and again in the 2024 season. Although Justin finished T26 at The Sentry 2025 tournament, he significantly improved that result by finishing second at The American Express tournament this month. He will now look to go a step further by securing his first tournament win in three years.
Cantlay did not secure a PGA Tournament victory last year like the last two golfers on this list. Nonetheless, he finished in the top four in three of the 15 tournaments he entered. He has maintained that trend this year, achieving a T15 and a T5 finish at The Sentry and The American Express, respectively. Cantlay has not advanced beyond a T3 finish despite competing at several events last year. Thus, it seems unlikely that he will win this event. However, if he can replicate his title-winning performances from the 2021-22 season, he could create an upset this weekend.

Although Collin has only played once this season, he excelled in that single appearance. His second-place finish at the season-opening Sentry clearly demonstrated his competitive edge. He previously played at Pebble Beach in 2024, finishing T14, but that tournament faced significant weather issues. Nevertheless, Collin consistently remained in contention last season, even if he didn’t secure a win. The American now aims to build on his recent performance. Given his talent, we anticipate he will finish among the top three in this event.

Scheffler is coming off an exceptional season, claiming eight victories. His victories include a Masters, an Olympic Gold in France, and the Tour Championship. But is it reasonable to expect him to continue at that same level? His most recent event was the Hero World Challenge in early December, where he finished strong with a closing 63 to secure the win. As the world’s top player, anything is possible. Still, a bit of caution feels warranted, so we’ll predict a top-five finish, even if the value isn’t particularly enticing.

Cantlay finished no worse than 17th in any of his last seven outings last season. While he didn’t secure a victory, his T5 finish at the American Express two weeks ago is a positive indicator. Notably, he has demonstrated remarkable consistency at Pebble Beach, making the cut in all seven of his appearances and achieving four top-11 finishes. Over 27 rounds in this tournament, he has shot over par only twice, with both instances being 1-over 73s. In a tournament known for its unpredictable conditions, that level of performance is impressive. US bookmakers for golf have offered odds of 2.80 (9/5) for this outcome.
