The American has had a freakish season to date, stringing together five T5 finishes in a row to go with the numerous other top 10 and top five placements he’s made earlier in the year. However, Scheffler has not won a title since March, and his ratio of deep runs to trophies lifted is beginning to be concerning.
With Scheffler yet again falling short at the US Open over the weekend, one has to think this will be a big disappointment. The 26-year-old is only human, and we say this will be the tournament where his level drops and he doesn’t make a deep run for once.

This time last year, Xander Schauffele achieved a modest T14 placement at the US Open before going on to win the Travelers Championship the next week.
