This time last year, Xander Schauffele achieved a modest T14 placement at the US Open before going on to win the Travelers Championship the next week. This year, Schauffele placed T10 at the US Open after having had a similar season to date. We say yet again, the American will make a deep run in this event and challenge for the title.
The Travelers Championship rewards consistent putters, something that Schauffele has shown he’s more than capable of when he won this tournament in 2022. While we’re not convinced he’ll defend his title, do expect to be seeing him late on the final day still.
