However, Scheffler has not won a title since March, and his ratio of deep runs to trophies lifted is beginning to be concerning.
With Scheffler yet again falling short at the US Open over the weekend, one has to think this will be a big disappointment. The 26-year-old is only human, and we say this will be the tournament where his level drops and he doesn’t make a deep run for once.

This time last year, Xander Schauffele achieved a modest T14 placement at the US Open before going on to win the Travelers Championship the next week. This year, Schauffele placed T10 at the US Open after having had a similar season to date. We say yet again, the American will make a deep run in this event and challenge for the title.

While the disappointment will be tough for McIlroy to swallow, we believe it will only motivate him to keep pushing. With many others letting their guards down slightly post-US Open, the Travelers Championship 2023 is a great opportunity for McIlroy to yet again lift a trophy in 2023.
