Understanding the NFL Draft Event & Its History

This will be the 89th edition of the NFL draft. The National Football League holds this draft yearly before the start of the season, as it’s a very important event that aims to bring a lot of talented rookies and eligible players to play in the NFL. There are also a lot of strategies that come with the draft, as every team is looking to strengthen their weakest positions, either by acquiring players from the draft or by trading them after.

The idea of the NFL draft is to strengthen the weaker teams in the league more so they can compete in the future. That means that the team that finishes in last place gets to choose first in the draft, while the Super Bowl winners will get the 32nd pick. The Carolina Panthers had the first pick in last year’s draft, and they picked Bryce Young.
