The 2023–24 NBA season is officially over, with the Boston Celtics winning the championship, and the teams are looking to start building into the next season through the 2024 NBA draft. There is no standout prospect to be the No. 1 pick in the draft, but there are some interesting prospects like Alex Sarr, Zaccharie Risacher, Donovan Clingan, Zach Edey, and Bronny James.
The 2024 NBA draft will be held over two nights for the first time, as the first round will be held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on June 26, while the second round will be held at ESPN’s Seaport District Studios in Manhattan on June 27. The Philadelphia 76ers and Phoenix Suns have lost their second-round picks due to tampering violations, so we will have only 58 picks in the draft this year.
The results of the 2024 NBA draft order came out as follows: the Atlanta Hawks have the first pick, followed by the Washington Wizards, Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, and then the Detroit Pistons.

The two French players, Zaccharie Risacher and Alexandre Sarr, will go head-to-head for the first pick in the NBA draft. Risacher is a very good 3-and-D wing, and he has performed well at the French League and EuroCup, as he was named the EuroCup Rising Star in April. The small forward has a high ceiling, and he can benefit Atlanta a lot as the No. 1 pick.
Alex Sarr can turn into a defensive beast with his very good height, great athleticism, and ability to block. The French power forward/center will need to improve his 3-pointers, as he is shooting under 30% from the 3-line. Donovan Clingan has the height to be a dominant rim protector and a constant interior threat. The former UConn Huskies center could surprise and land the No. 1 spot, but it’s unlikely.
Reed Sheppard is probably the best point guard in the 2024 NBA draft class. The former Kentucky Wildcats guard is very skilled defensively despite his small size, and he has elite shooting and passing abilities, so he is definitely expected to be a top-5 pick. Stephon Castle is another former UConn Huskies player who is expected to shine in the NBA with his great playmaking abilities.

This is one of our favorite 2024 NBA order predictions, as the betting odds for the NBA 2024 draft have some enticing chances of the Houston Rockets picking Reed Sheppard as the No. 3. Houston would benefit massively from taking the former Kentucky guard, as Sheppard will provide a big spark off the bench with his great shooting skills. The Rockets would have three pretty good guards in Fred VanVleet, Amen Thompson, and Reed Sheppard. Alperen Sengun would also benefit from Reed’s floor-spreading abilities, so this might be a good plan for the Houston team.

It will be interesting to see which team will land Bronny James, as the son of LeBron James is set to enter the draft this year. James has stated multiple times that he is willing to play with his son in the NBA, so a lot of teams will be looking to draft Bronny to increase their chances of signing LeBron. It would be a surprise for Bronny to be drafted in the first round, but he is projected to land one of the early second-round picks. The Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers are interested in him, so we think that he will be picked before the 41st pick.
