Looking at the Mid-Season Invitational 2023 odds, the betting favorites can be broken up into three categories. Firstly, the hot favorites – JD Gaming, T1, and Gen.G. These three teams are all neck and neck in the odds, paying between 3.00 (2/1) and 4.00 (3/1) to win the MSI 2023.

Next, Bilibili Gaming is out on their own, paying 7.50 (13/2) – not quite a favorite, but not far off the pace either. Then, the chasing pack of G2 Esports and Cloud9 sit on 17.00 (16/1) and 19.00 (18/1), before which the odds drop off significantly for the rest of the field.

LoL MSI 2023 Tournament Info

The beauty of the LoL MSI format is that it pits only teams that have been in great form against each other. Nine of the teams invited are the nine winners of the most recent significant LoL tournaments, while the remaining four teams are runner-ups from the big spring events (LCK, LPL, LEC, and LCS).

Those teams which won the most recent major events will qualify directly for the playoffs, as well as the runner-up of LCK. The rest will participate in a play-in round, which is a double-elimination bracket featuring the best-of-three games. The top three teams from the play-in then join the five teams that have qualified directly for the playoffs and again play a double elimination bracket, this time best-of-five matches. Here’s a look at how the teams are placed heading into day one:

Direct Qualification for Playoffs

  • Gen.G
  • T1
  • JD Gaming
  • Cloud9
  • MAD Lions

Play-In Teams

  • Bilibili Gaming
  • DetonationN FocusMe
  • G2 Esports
  • GAM Esports
  • Golden Guardians
  • LOUD
  • PSG Talon
  • Rainbow7

2023 MSI Predictions

It’s one of the fastest-growing industries, and we’re here to help walk you through your Esports betting this week. Our experts have put their brains together and devised the best League of Legends tips for those who want to bet on the LoL 2023 Mid-Season Invitational:

JD Gaming to Win @ 3.00 (2/1)

Hands down, JD Gaming are the team to beat heading into the MSI Invitational this year.

JD Gaming come into the tournament in red-hot form, having won the LPL Spring 2023 with a 3-1 victory over Bilibili Gaming, which netted them a cool $291,200 in prize money. Not only do they have recent results behind them, but JD Gaming have one of the most talented teams in all of LoL. Their star player, ‘369’, is incredible at damage share, kill participation, and damage per minute, and while some say JD Gaming is too reliant on ‘369’, why fix something that ain’t broken?

Backing JD Gaming to win at 3.00 (2/1) is the strongest and most conservative bet to make on the LoL MSI 2023.

G2 Esports to Win @ 17.00 (5/4)

If JD Gaming stumbles, it may not be at the hands of who many punters suspect. Coming in at fifth in the outright betting odds, G2 Esports are something of a sleeping giant in the Lol MSI 2023. G2 Esports knows what it takes to win this tournament, claiming the title in 2019 and coming runner-up in 2017 as well.

Perhaps the biggest advantage in favor of G2 Esports is the path they would have to take to make the LoL MSI 2023 final. As one of the play-in teams, G2 Esports will be required to work their way through several tight matches against high-quality opposition in a row. Yes, this is risky, as there will be plenty of opportunities for G2 to lose along the way. However, they should have the caliber to make it through, and if they do, they’ll have an enormous advantage of momentum.

An in-form G2 Esports team with a history of winning here, paying 17.00 (16/1)… That sounds like a good bet.

PSG Talon to Beat DetonatioN FM in First Group Match @ 1.40 (2/5)

For those who can’t wait a minute longer to bet on the LoL MSI 2023, then there’s plenty of action to get amongst immediately in the play-in matches. While some of these clashes appear a little one-sided and offer low returns, the clash between PSG Talon and DetonatioN FM is looking like a good match to wager on.

Both sides have been recording excellent results in A-Tier tournaments. PSG have won four of their last five, while DetonatioN hasn’t lost an A-Tier since 2020. However, the gap in S-Tier results reveals a gulf in talent between these two teams – DetonatioN have never managed to record a result of note at an S-Tier event, while PSG have consistently found themselves knocking on the door of the finals. We say PSG will be motivated to win here and will claim this match with little issue.

Final Betting Predictions for LoL MSI 2023

  • JD Gaming to Win @ 3.00 (2/1)
  • PSG Talon to Beat DetonatioN FM in First Group Match @ 1.40 (2/5)

The dress rehearsal for the 2023 World Championship is here, the stage is set, and all that’s left to do is get your bets in. We say backing JD Gaming is the wisest decision here, as their talent and form are second to none in LoL at the moment. However, those after a high return punt could be interested in G2 Esports making a strong run, while the quick money is with PSG Talon to win in their opening play-in match.
