History & Format of the LPGA Chevron Championships
Now recognized as one of the LPGA’s five major championships, the Chevron Championship was first held in 1972. The tournament was started by Colgate-Palmolive chairman David Foster and entertainer Dinah Shore, and officially gained major status in 1983.
For five decades, from 1972 until 2022, the Chevron Championship called Mission Hills Country Club—on the iconic Dinah Shore Tournament Course near Palm Springs—its home.
The tournament has gone through multiple rebrands over the years, but the soul of the Chevron Championship lives on through the Dinah Shore Trophy – a lasting tribute to the star who helped bring the tournament to life.
Though it holds Major status, the Chevron Championship sticks to the familiar format seen across the LPGA Tour. Played over 72 holes of stroke play, the field is cut to the top 65 and ties after two rounds, with the lowest overall scorer across four rounds taking home the trophy.
Past Winners of the Chevron Championship
- 2024: Nelly Korda
- 2023: Lilia Vu
- 2022: Jennifer Kupcho
- 2021: Patty Tavatanakit
- 2020: Mirim Lee
The past five editions of the tournament have each produced a different champion. Nelly Korda returns as the defending winner, but it’s been over two decades since anyone has gone back-to-back in this competition.
Golf 2025 Chevron Championship LPGA Odds & Favorites
Sportsbooks with odds for golf have given their pre-tournament verdict for this year’s event. You will find the shortest LPGA 2025 Chevron Championship odds for the following contenders:
Jeeno Thitikul @ 10.00 (9/1)
Sportsbooks and mobile betting applications for Android are considering Jeeno Thitikul the ultimate favorite to win the Chevron Championship. The Thai golfer finished a respectable T9 at the JM Eagle LA Championship and boasts five top finishes in her last seven outings.
Nelly Korda @ 11.00 (10/1)
Neither form nor history appears to back Korda going into the weekend, but she still has favorable odds to win the 2025 Chevron Championship LPGA. With her trophy-gaining experience, no one can exclude her from the list of top contenders anytime soon.
Lydia Ko @ 15.00 (14/1)
Lydia Ko decided to take a breather after a disappointing T-Mobile Match Play performance. She skipped last week’s JM Eagle LA Championship and will be hoping to justify the Chevron Championship 2025 betting predictions trends with a solid campaign.
Jin Young Ko @ 23.00 (22/1)
An impressive T7 finish at the JM Eagle LA Championship has brought Jin Young Ko under the spotlight ahead of the 2025 Chevron Championship. She’ll try to rewind her early-season form when she finished top-4 two times in a row.
A Lim Kim @ 26.00 (25/1)
Kim A-lim opened her season in style with a victory at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions. Since then, she’s delivered steady performances on the LPGA Tour, despite skipping last week’s event at El Caballero Country Club.
2025 LPGA Chevron Championship Betting Tips
The oddsmakers have had their say on the likely winner of the 2025 LPGA Chevron Championship—but who are we backing? Here are our Chevron Championship 2025 betting predictions:
A Lim Kim to Win Outright @ 26.00 (25/1)
1 (50%)
(50%) 1
We’re opening our 2025 LPGA Chevron Championship betting tips with an outright winner pick: A Lim Kim gets our backing. The South Korean has shown good form this year, which convinced us that she can go all the way at Carlton Woods. Kim finished sixth in Thailand, tied-seventh in Singapore, and grabbed a T9 at the T-Mobile Match Play in Vegas.
There’s no denying that the 29-year-old has been putting in the work, and it’s showing in her results. Kim has maintained a packed schedule, yet continues to deliver week after week. She’s also no stranger to the Chevron Championship, having posted impressive finishes in recent years—T4 in 2023 and ninth in 2024. With momentum on her side, Kim will be looking to convert that consistency into a maiden Chevron Championship win in 2025.
Lauren Coughlin to Finish Top Five @ 6.50 (11/2)
2 (100%)
0
There’s a lot to like about Lauren Coughlin’s current form. After a strong start to the season, she came close to a breakthrough win last week. Now ranked inside the world’s top ten, the Minneapolis native’s top-tier ball-striking should serve her well at a challenging venue. She’s well-positioned to match (or even surpass) her T3 finish from last year. We would play an even safer game, however, and root for her to deliver a top-five result.
Jeeno Thitikul to Finish Top 10 @ 2.00 (1/1)
2 (100%)
0
Thitikul is no stranger to the top end of leaderboards. The Thai star earned a record-breaking $6.1 million last year and has picked up right where she left off, with 5 top-10 finishes in 6 events so far this season.
Despite boasting seven top-10s in 23 career majors, the 22-year-old is still chasing that elusive first major title. Given her current form—five top-10 finishes already in 2024—she’s a solid pick to notch another this week at the Chevron.
Our LPGA 2025 Chevron Championship Predictions
For our final 2025 LPGA Chevron Championship betting tips, we’re tipping A Lim Kim to lift the trophy at the Chevron Championship, while Jeeno Thitikul looks a solid bet to extend her impressive top-10 streak.
