The Scottish Women’s Open is back after the Olympic Games. It features on the LPGA and European Tours, with the last two events taking place at the famous Dundonald Links. This year marks the 22nd edition of the Women’s Scottish Open, and it is one of the most anticipated golf tournaments in Scotland.
The Women’s Scottish Open features a 72-hole stroke play event and it is held at the Dundonald Links Course in North Ayrshire, Scotland. A total of 156 players are competing in the field this weekend, with the games starting on 15th August and ending on 18th August 2024.

There’s some huge shocker in the odds here as Olympic Gold Medalist Lydia Ko misses out on a place among the top five favorites on the best bookies in Scotland. 2022 Champion Ayaka Furue is top of the odds to win 2024 ISPS Handa Women’s Scottish Open in a tightly packed field.
Ayaka Furue made history at the Dundonald Links two years ago when she broke the tournament record score to win her first-ever Scottish Open. The Japanese golfer sits eighth on the golf women’s rankings, and she won the Amundi Championship in July, her first win of the year. Ayaka Furue missed out on the Olympics for Japan as she was behind Yuka Saso and Miyu Yamashita on the qualifying metrics, but she can be even fresher and more motivated here.
Lilia Vu is second on the women’s golf leaderboard, only behind Nelly Korda and she is a big favorite to deliver the goods in Scotland. The 26-year-old has been decent this season but she had to settle for a 36th place at the recently concluded Olympic Games in France. Lilia Vu has held the number-one spot this year, and she will be looking to wrestle that back in the final stages of the season.
Hyo Joo Kim was one of the female golfers representing South Korea in the Olympics but she finished in 25th place on the leaderboard. The 29-year-old is a top three favorite in the Scottish Golf Women’s Open, and she knows what LPGA victory tastes like with her title win at the Aramco Team Series. Hyo Joo Kim was in the top seven earlier this year but has dropped to 13th on the golf women’s rankings.
Jin Young Ko has spent 33 consecutive weeks in the top ten of the female golf rankings, but she wasn’t at her best at the Olympics, finishing 25th and moving from third to fourth on the leaderboard. The South Korean professional golfer is still seeking a first win this year, but she came very close to a victory at the KPMG Championship, finishing in second place.
Linn Grant had a good tournament before the Olympics where she claimed third place in the Dana Open but didn’t make the top 20 in France 2024 games. The Swedish professional golfer has had very good performances in her recent LPGA events, most notably her win in the Scandinavian Mixed competition. She makes the top five here and can be a good bet on ladies’ golf via apps.
The Women’s Scottish Open has been on the Ladies European Tour since its inception but was recently added to the LPGA Tour in 2017. With recent changes and improvements to the tournament, the prize money has also been increased to $2.0 million, with the winner taking $300,000. Ayaka Furue holds the tournament record score with 267 points and a three-stroke margin of victory in 2022.
