England National Football Team @ 4.20 (16/5)

It’s not a secret that this England team is stacked with quality players. They are the runner-ups of the 2020 Euro tournament, which is the closest they have been to winning the European Championship. The Three Lions have only suffered two losses in their last 19 games, and they will be desperate to win their first Euro and first tournament with Gareth Southgate.

France National Football Team @ 5.25 (17/4)

France are coming off back-to-back World Cup finals and won one of them, but their performance in the Euros lately isn’t as inspiring. They have reached only one of the last five finals and didn’t win it, losing to Portugal in Paris in 2016. The new Real Madrid player, Kylian Mbappe, will lead a talented squad in this edition, as they have some experienced players like Antoine Griezmann and N’Golo Kante, in addition to a lot of rising players like Randal Kolo Muani, Jules Konde, Theo Hernandez, and Aurelien Tchouameni.

Germany National Football Team @ 6.50 (11/2)

The hosts will definitely be looking to impress in front of their home fans. Germany are in a tricky group, but they are the heavy favorites to finish at the top. Julian Nagelsmann and the Mannschaft have had some shaky results lately, as they have won only four of their last 13 games. Toni Kroos is back from retirement to play his last Euro, and they have some other experienced players like Ilkay Gundogan, Thomas Muller, and Manuel Neuer. However, their winning chances will depend on how the younger generation, in the face of Musiala and Wirtz, will deal with the pressure when it matters the most.

Portugal National Football Team @ 9.0 (8/1)

Portugal are on the rise since signing Roberto Martinez as their head coach. The Selecao were the only team to win all 10 games in the Euro qualifications, as they finished with a perfect record of 30 points. Cristiano Ronaldo is back once again to play in his 6th Euro edition, and he will be looking to increase his lead at the top of all-time Euro scorers. Joao Felix, Rafael Leao, and Bruno Fernandes will all be threads in the attack, and if they can stay solid defensively, they will have great winning chances.

Spain National Football Team @ 10.0 (9/1)

It was a different generation that won back-to-back Euros for Spain in 2012 and 2008, but they are still a young team with a lot of interesting talents. La Roja won seven of their eight Euro qualification games, and they are in excellent form right now. Most of the Spanish players are playing in LA Liga, so they have a lot of chemistry, but they will need more than that to win a Euro tournament.

UEFA Euro 2024 Betting Preview

This will be the 17th edition of the Euro Championships, as the tournament has been played every four years since it was first introduced in 1960. Germany and Spain have won the most Euro football trophies, with three titles each. Italy and France have two titles each, while seven different countries have won only one edition.

The format of the 2024 Euro tournament is pretty simple. There are 24 teams participating in the event, and they are split into six groups of four teams. The top two teams in each group, in addition to the best four third-place teams, advance to the knockouts. The tournament continues with single-elimination matches until we get a winner after that.

Euro 2024 Participants List and Overview

All six groups will have big competition for a chance to advance to the next stage, as the Euros are usually unpredictable with a lot of upsets. The group of death in the 2024 Euro is definitely Group B, as Spain, Italy, Croatia, and Albania will be fighting for two qualifying spots. Group E will be chaotic as well, as any of Ukraine, Romania, and Slovakia can qualify alongside Belgium.

With a separate preview for each Euro 24 group already published here at BetZillion, that is how the full list of participants looks like:

Past Euro Football Tournament Finals

We have had eight different champions in the last nine editions of the Euros, as Spain are the only one that won the title more than once in this period, and they are the only team in history to win back-to-back titles. There have been two first-time winners in the last five tournaments as well: Portugal and Greece.

  • 2020: Italy 1-1 (3-2) England
  • 2016: Portugal 1-0 France
  • 2012: Spain 4-0 Italy
  • 2008: Spain 1-0 Germany
  • 2004: Greece 1-0 Portugal

England are on top of the odds for national teams football to win the 2024 Euros for a reason. The Three Lions have arguably the best offensive depth in the tournament, with players like Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka, Phil Foden, Ollie Watkins, and Cole Palmer. Moreover, the ones like Grealish and Rashford didn’t find their place in the squad for the tournament, which tells a lot about the team’s depth. England also have some quality players in the midfield, like Declan Rice, but their main problem will be in the defense, so if they can improve that, they are in for a fun tournament.

The Three Lions are in Group C, which is a pretty easy one for them, and shouldn’t face any problems finishing at the top, so they will also be able to rest some of the players. England are trying to improve on their second-place finish in the last Euros, and they have the tools to do so.

This is a long shot on the odds for Euro football 2024, but we think the Netherlands can cause some upsets. The Oranje are solid in defense, with Virgil van Dijk, Nathan Ake, and Matthijs de Ligt at the back. Jeremie Frimpong will be playing his first Euro after a great season with Leverkusen, so that’s another quality wingback alongside Denzel Dumfries. The offense will have to step up for them to have a chance to win the title, but those odds are enticing for the Flying Dutchmen.

Harry Kane is the second favorite according to the best scorer odds on EURO 2024. The English forward is coming off his best-scoring season in his career. He has scored 36 Bundesliga goals in 32 games, in addition to eight goals in 12 Champions League matches. Kane is the all-time top scorer in England with 62 goals, and he is in a good group, which will help him score a lot of goals early in the group stage before the playoffs.

Albania to be the Lowest Scoring Team @ 6.0 (5/1)

Albania are very unlikely to be in the group of death with Spain, Italy, and Croatia. They have one of the worst offenses in the tournament either way, as they have failed to score in three of their last four games. The Red and Blacks managed to score only one goal in the last four encounters with Italy, and they scored three goals over Spain in eight games. Albania are almost definitely getting knocked out of the group stage, and they are expected to score between 1-2 goals in the tournament. They scored only one goal in their first participation in Euro 2016 and don’t have a better room for maneuvering this time.
