The excitement of the English Premier League is upon us in two weeks’ time, as the championship is starting in mid-August. Manchester City will be back to defend their title once again after winning the EPL 23/24 season, as they have now won the last four Premier League editions in a row.

24/25 English Premier League Betting Guide

The English Premier League 2024/25 season will kick off on August 16, 2024, and end on May 25, 2024. The English clubs are ready for a very long season of 38 gameweeks this season, as there have been a lot of movements in the transfer market to strengthen their squads. The Premier League last season had an interesting end, as the Citizens clinched the title on the final day by beating West Ham at home, which put them two points ahead of Arsenal in the final EPL standings.

    Manchester City @ 2.20 (6/5)

The 2024–25 EPL odds have the Citizens as favorites, which is quite logical. Manchester City became the first team in Premier League history to win four consecutive titles, and they didn’t make many changes to their winning squad as well. Pep Guardiola is by far the best manager in the league, especially after Jurgen Klopp has left, so only they can stop themselves from winning yet another trophy.

    Arsenal @ 2.875 (18/5)

Arsenal came very close to winning the league in the last two years, and they were the favorites at some point to win the title, but they couldn’t come in clutch and ended up in second place. The Gunners have been active in the transfer market in the off-season, as they acquired the Italian star, Riccardo Calafiori, after an impressive Euro performance, which increases their winning chances a lot.

    Liverpool @ 8.50 (15/2)

It’s not usual to see the Reds with such high odds to win the Premier League title, but they are going into the after-Jurgen Klopp era, and it’s unclear how Arne Slot’s first season will unfold. Liverpool haven’t signed any players so far, but they have managed to keep their best players like Mohamed Salah, Alisson Becker, Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alexis Mac Allister, Luis Diaz, and Darwin Nunez.

    Chelsea @ 21.0 (20/1)

Chelsea are another team that’s going into the next season with a new coach, as Enzo Maresca will be coaching the Blues after signing a long contract with the team. They have improved from their 12th-place finish in the 22/23 season by finishing sixth last year, but they are still an inconsistent team that needs a lot of work before winning a championship. However, a new coach with progressive ideas and a bunch of talented players in the squad can make them a very fun team to follow this season.

    Manchester United @ 23.0 (22/1)

Manchester United have had the most active team in the pre-season so far. They have renewed Erik Ten Hag’s contract until June 2026, and they have had two big signings in Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee. The Red Devils also released Anthony Martial and Raphael Varane, and they have sold Donny van de Beek and Mason Greenwood. There is a lot of value in Manchester United making some noise in the new season.

English Premier League 2024-25 Format & Overview

The English Premier League format hasn’t changed in a very long time. There will be 20 teams fighting for the championship, and each team plays a total of 38 games throughout the season, as the team with the most points simply wins the trophy. As with most of the football leagues around the world, the EPL applies a promotion/relegation style, as the bottom three teams at the end of the season get relegated to the EFL Championship.

The EPL top-four teams after the end of the season qualify directly for the Champions League, while the fifth team qualifies for the Europa League. Manchester United finished in eighth place last season, but they have qualified for the UEL alongside Tottenham after winning the 23/24 FA Cup.

The three promoted teams of last year went down right away to the EFL Championship this season, as Burnley, Luton Town, and Sheffield United were relegated, and they made history by having the lowest points tally for relegated teams in Premier League history. Meanwhile, Leicester City are finally back in the top league after winning the EFL Championship, while Ipswich Town and Southampton are also back.

History of the Top English Football Division

The upcoming EPL season will be the 126th edition of the competition and the 33rd edition after rebranding to the Premier League. Manchester United have won the most titles (20), and Liverpool are just behind them with 19 titles, while Arsenal have won 13 titles of the English top-fly division. Manchester City have dominated the Premier League lately, having won seven of the last 11 editions.

    Last Five Winners

Here’s a list of the last five Premier League winners, which have seen the Citizens win four of them and the Reds win only one:

    • 2023-24 – Manchester City
    • 2022-23 – Manchester City
    • 2021-22 – Manchester City
    • 2020-21 – Manchester City
    • 2019-20 – Liverpool

We will start our 24-25 English PL winner predictions with Arsenal to win the title. The Gunners are the most stable team in the league besides Manchester City, and they will be motivated to finally win the title after coming close twice. They have a very strong roster and squad depth, especially now that Jurrien Timber and Thomas Partey are back from their injuries and after signing Riccardo Calafiori.

The EPL 24/25 betting odds are quite enticing for the Gunners this season, and they are actively looking for a striker, with rumors linking them to Alvarez for City and Osimhen from Napoli. They have won both of their friendly games in the pre-season, which pushes their winning streak to eight games, and they have looked determined to win their first title since 2004.

This is one of the risky season-winner predictions for EPL 24/25, but a bet on Manchester United makes sense as the can surprise a lot of people in the new season. The fact that they chose not to sack Erik ten Hag and even extended his contract proves that they are now more stable. They managed to beat Man City to the FA Cup title at the end of last season, which will give them a push and more confidence to perform better in the Premier League this year.

This is definitely our favorite 2024–25 English Premier League top-four prediction, as the Red Devils, more often than others, finished inside the top 4 in EPL history. Man United have had top-four finishes 18 times since 2000, and they have shown signs of improvement at the end of last season. Andre Onana is expected to perform much better this year, and they have a pretty good offense that can cause problems for any team, so they should finish inside the top four easily if they improve defensively.

The 24/25 FA Cup odds believe that there’s a very good chance for the Spurs to finish outside of the top six. Tottenham have had one of the worst defenses in the league last season, and they haven’t made any moves to change that so far, having released Ivan Perisic and Ryan Sessegnon and sold Eric Dier, as well as loaned Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. However, it’s still unclear who will replace those players in the club. The Spurs overperformed last season due to their strong attack, but they probably won’t be as good this year, especially after finishing last season with five losses in the last seven games.
