Nine teams received direct invitations to compete at the group stage of this tournament: Tundra Esports, HEROIC, Team Spirit, Gaimin Gladiators, Team Falcons, Team Liquid, Xtreme Gaming, Aurora, and Nigma Galaxy. PGL Wallachia Season 3 will feature two stages: the group stage and the playoffs. The tournament begins with the group stage, where 16 teams compete in a Swiss-system bracket. All matches in this phase will follow a Bo3 format. Once the stage concludes, the top 8 teams will advance to the playoffs, while the remaining eight will exit the tournament.
Dota 2 fans can watch the playoff matches live after the group stage. This stage will use a double-elimination format, featuring both Upper and Lower brackets. Matches will continue in a Bo3 format, except for the Grand Final, a Bo5 contest.
Beyond being the first major Dota 2 tournament in the new meta, PGL Wallachia Season 3 stands out for its prize pool. As with its previous iteration, the event will offer a substantial $1,000,000 reward, and the winner will receive $300,000.

Fresh off their first win of 2025, Spirit will be eager to secure their second title. They are not new to winning this competition, having secured the title during the maiden event in May 2024. Team Falcons has declined in 2025 despite their strong showing in 2024. So far, they have reached the grand finals at the FISSURE PLAYGROUND #1. Next, they made it to the semis of the BLAST Slam II before finishing fifth at DreamLeague Season 25. Team Falcons are an experienced side with title-winning potential. Based on that fact, they are in contention to win this tournament. However, they must deliver a winning performance to secure this title.
Aurora enters this contest as an outsider, thanks to its poor performance in its last outing. The Serbain organization has only competed in one big tournament in 2025. They are relatively stress-free as they head to Romania this month. How that will play out in their performance remains to be seen. However, their squad, including Panto, Mira, Nightfall, Kiyotaka, and TorontoTokyo, must do their best to get a positive result in this contest.
Team Liquid consistently finished in the quarterfinals of its first three tournaments of 2025. Despite these poor results, most Esports apps for betting still place Liquid among the top five contenders to win this event. So far this year, Gaimin Gladiators is the only other Western European team to reach a grand final, where they fell to Tundra in a decisive 3-0 defeat. Given Tundra’s current form, they are expected to outperform its regional competitors once again.
