The Professional Gamers League (PGL) is the main organizer of this inaugural Wallachia event. This competition follows the traditional format seen in many Tier-1 DOTA 2 tournaments. Tundra Esports and Blacklist International were part of the original teams meant to participate in this tournament. However, they were both unable to secure visas for the championship. Only the top eight teams progress to the Playoffs. Here, a double-elimination bracket awaits, with all matches except the Grand Finals being Bo3. The ultimate showdown, the Grand Finals, is a grueling best-of-five (Bo5) series.
PGL Wallachia joins the ranks of premier Dota 2 tournaments in 2024, thanks to its $1 million prize pool. This hefty sum will likely be distributed similarly to other top-tier events, with the winning team receiving a larger part of the prize pool. However, the exact amount of the prize pool for each participant has yet to be announced.
