The big surprise in this week’s action has been OG not qualifying.
Coming in third at the bookies to move through to the Legends Stage and paying 1.36 (4/11), the fact that OG lost three matches and will not be moving through is a big upset. Even the top two teams in the bookmaker’s odds, Team Vitality and Cloud9, only narrowly qualified with records of 3-2 in seventh and eighth position.
Big performers for the week were Bad News Eagles, who were not even in the top eight teams expected to qualify this week, and yet they placed second, clean sweeping 3-0 in their matches.

Looking ahead to tomorrow’s play, sixteen teams vie for eight places in the Champions Stage of the tournament.

These sides hold players with the highest HLTV ranking and are the best ESL Major bets to make. However, there is a dark horse candidate that could make for good betting as well. Thus, Brazilian bookmakers will surely lower the odds for FURIA, as the Brazilian squad will receive 100% support from the local crowd.
Cloud9 and Team Vitality are in shaky conditions now. They both weren’t convincing enough during the first stage. They struggled when they faced opponents with flawless teamplay and couldn’t compete against them. Being at the edge of failure, they coped with the teams that weren’t among the favorites. It makes us think they will sink into the tougher stage, although some of the favorites can also struggle.
A lot will depend on the opening game of Legends Stage, and the draw was tough for both Vitality and Cloud9. The first face NAVI in the GOATs battle ZywOo vs. S1mple, while the second should pass reigning champions – Faze. The odds for these CS:GO matches favor Natus Vincere (1.5 – 2.4) and Faze Clan (1.6 – 2.15), which promises a challenging road for Cloud9 and Team Vitality. Looks like a good parlay for opening Legends games.
No one expected the Bad News Eagles to still be around this deep into the tournament. So, it’s time to bet on heavy underdogs until the odds are so high.
And yet, they are one of two teams to navigate the Challengers Stage unbeaten, convincingly beating 00 Nation, OG, and Gamer Legion. While they will come up against much tougher opposition in the Legends and Champions Stage of this event if they make it so far, right now, they are the form team.
