G2 Esports started the season in 2023 with a bang at IEM Katowice 2023, continuing their brilliant form from the BLAST Premier: World Final 2022. The next few months were something of a disappointment, however, as the German team failed to go deep in both the ESL Pro League Season 17 and the Paris Major.
That was all rectified last week when G2 Esports yet again returned to the winner’s circle, lifting the trophy in Cologne as they claimed second Intel Extreme Masters in 2023. Their path was impressive, sweeping OG and MOUZ before gritting out a 2-1 victory over Team Vitality to make the semi-finals, where they then beat Astralis 2-0 and ENCE 3-1 in the final.
With such fresh momentum, it’s hard to pick against G2 Esports coming into Riyadh and picking up where they left off. They’re our best bet this week to win the tournament.

It could be déjà vu for Team Vitality, as one of the most consistent sides this year we’re again predicting will make the final of Gamers8. Vitality have not had many bad tournaments in 2023, winning the Paris Major and the Intel Extreme Masters Rio. Add to this their group-topping performance in the BLAST Premier: Spring Groups and their runner-up placement in the Spring Final, and Team Vitality have a strong body of work to suggest they’ll go deep in Saudi Arabia as well.

For an early 2023 Gamers8 CS:GO betting tip, we say that ENCE will move past Team Liquid easily in their first-round match. Team Liquid have been struggling recently, failing to make the quarter-finals in their past three events and crashing out in 17th-20th at the IEM Cologne 2023.
ENCE, on the other hand, have played well, making the final in their past three appearance – winning the IEM Dallas 2023 and coming second at last week’s Intel Extreme Masters in Cologne. It’s a mismatch of both form and skill, and we say ‘Snappi’ will have a field day against Team Liquid, leading them to a clean sweep.

As one of the biggest names in Esports, FaZe will be the center of attention at Gamers8, and we don’t think it will help their concentration in the opening clash against Virtus.pro. Expect them to get upset here against a side they will be expected to beat. However, Virtus.pro have nothing to lose and are coming into Riyadh having won three of their past four events. We say this spells danger for FaZe Clan and an early exit.
