From here, there’s a slight step back to the next three teams, which sit between 7.00 (6/1) and 11.00 (10/1), before OG comes in as massive underdogs with odds of 51.00 (50/1).
History of the BLAST Premier World Final 2022
This is only the third edition of the BLAST Premier World Final, with the league being established in 2020. However, it has already grown to be one of the largest events on the CS:GO calendar, with an enormous $1,000,000 prize pool as well as the bragging rights of being the BLAST champions.
Since its inception, the event has been dominated by one team. Here’s how the previous two editions have played out:
- BLAST Premier World Final 2020 – Natus Vincere beat Astralis
- BLAST Premier World Final 2021 – Natus Vincere beat Gambit Esports
In both previous BLAST Premier World Finals, the BLAST MVP award went to Natus Vincere’s Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev. With Natus Vincere again making the top eight and contesting the BLAST Premier World Final 2022, yet neither of the previous year’s finalists participating this year, can Natus Vincere make it three from three in CS:GO’s prestigious event? Will s1mple again stamp his mark as the best CS:GO player in 2022?
BLAST Premier World Final 2022 Tournament Info
The BLAST Premier World Final 2022 consists of eight teams competing over five days for the title of Counter-Strike world champions and their share of $1,000,000. These eight teams have made their way to this tournament either through winning qualifying events, winning major tournaments or by their place on the global leaderboard. Teams will be split into two groups and initially compete in a double-elimination Bo3 format within their quartets.
Here’s a look at this year’s tournament and Group seed:
Group A Participants | Group B Participants |
FaZe Clan | Heroic |
Outsiders | NAVI |
Team Liquid | Team Vitality |
G2 Esports | OG |
Following the Bo3 double-elimination group play, the bottom side from each group will be eliminated (two losses in a row). The top sides from each group will automatically qualify for the semifinals, while the second and third-ranked teams will each play a crossover over quarterfinal against the alternatively ranked team from the other group. The winner of this match will move through to the semifinals, with the winners of each semifinal contesting the grand final.
The Group Stage will take place across Wednesday, 14 December, and Thursday, 15 December, with the Playoffs taking place right after from Friday, 16 December, to Sunday, 18 December. All matches will be played as a single-elimination bracket, with the best-of-three series.
How to Bet on the BLAST Premier World Final 2022
Heading into the final top CS:GO tournament of the year, there are plenty of exciting opportunities for betting in the UAE if you want to see the teams on the stage. Here’s an overview of the different types of bets that can be placed on the 2022 BLAST Premier World Final this week:
- Outright winner – this is a bet that is placed before the tournament starts and predicts which team will win the whole tournament. For example, FaZe Clan currently leads the outright winner odds at 4.00 (3/1).
- To reach final – this is similar to the outright winner odds, except it is for which team will reach the final, regardless of whether they win it or not. Again, FaZe Clan is leading these odds also, at 2.00 (1/1).
- Total maps – this is a bet made on a specific match, where punters can wager how many maps total they believe a side will play (two or all three).
- Round handicap – this is a weighting that the bookies give to a team that is favored in a match and will be expressed as something like “Outsiders -3.5 rounds,” which means that for the bet to pay off, Outsiders would need to win by four rounds or more.
- Total rounds – this is a bet on a specific match, where bettors can wager how many rounds they believe will be played across both teams.
A range of different bets can be placed, all of which can be lucrative for different reasons. Below we outline which of these bets are likely to be the best, with our 2022 World Final BLAST predictions.
2022 BLAST Premier World Final Betting Tips
For those who are eager to make some bets on the BLAST Premier World Final 2022 this week, here’s our betting preview with some of the best wagers to take ahead of Wednesday’s play:
FaZe Clan to Make Final @ 2.00 (1/1)
The FaZe Clan are hot favorites heading into this tournament, with outright odds of 4.00 (3/1) to win the whole tournament. However, a safer and more secure bet for the conservative punters is for FaZe Clan to make the final. This is paying a healthy 2.00 (1/1) and is a very likely result. FaZe have been drawn in a pool alongside Outsiders, Team Liquid and G2 Esports. Team Liquid and G2 Esports are both long odds, so the Outsiders are the only real competition.
If FaZe beats Outsiders in pool play, then they will likely gain automatic qualification for the semifinals and only have to win one more game to make the final. If they lose to the Outsiders, they will still likely move through to the quarterfinals and have a second shot. Even after a failure in Rio, the international squad looks great and should pass their opponents in the group, at least. A bet on FaZe to make the final is not the most lucrative wager that can be placed this week, but it is grounded in reason and likely to come to fruition at 2.00 (1/1).
Natus Vincere to Win Outright @ 5.00 (4/1)
There’s something about Natus Vincere and the BLAST Premier World Final. Of the two previous editions, Natus Vincere have found a way to defeat the world’s best and win the crown.
The team heads into this tournament as the third equal in the betting odds, with both FaZe Clan and Outsiders slightly ahead of them. However, they have been drawn into a different group from these two, so they will likely only have to defeat one of them in order to win the title. With their star player, s1mple, knowing how to turn it on on the big stage and prove his worth as the Top-1 in CS:GO 2022 to earn another best HLTV ranking award, NAVI have a strong chance to win this tournament again and make it three-from-three at BLAST Premier World Finals.
It looks like they want to use a six-man roster for this event, which looks pretty dangerous to involve a young man from the academy (npl). However, all the teams will be adjusting to the renewed map pool (removed Dust 2 and added Anubis), and this additional unpredictability can play in favor of the Ukrainian side. With odds of 5.00 (4/1) by the best Ukrainian betting sites, this is a great wager to see the two-time defending champions retain their title on Sunday.
S1mple vs ZywOo in the Fight for 2022 HLTV Top-1 Status
The upcoming event seems to be decisive in the fight for the top-1 ranking in 2022 by HLTV. With a few more persons theoretically in the race, the reality is that s1mple and ZywOo will fight once again for this prestigious award. Teams’ performance will significantly influence the overall results of this race, while both have the chance to improve personal stats.
Although their opening duel can mean nothing in this fight as they can both reach the final, the degree of this opening clash should be high, so:
NAVI vs Team Vitality Total Maps Over 2.5 @ 1.85 (5/6)
Such a prediction comes from the map pool of the teams and their recent form, which is shaky for both. We won’t see Vertigo and Ancient as perma-bans, while most likely to see Mirage and Inferno. Moreover, both Virality and Natus Vincere can upset their opponents at their picks and reach the third map.
It’s hard to believe in Anubis as the sides’ choice, while it can be left as the third map in the series. Both teams know opponents pretty well not to be demolished on either map, so we predict a tight game with a decisive map to be played too. The latter variant looks safer here with the tie offer for both total over and under.
Betting Predictions for CS:GO BLAST Finals 2022
Here are our top 2022 BLAST World Final Predictions for this week’s tournament:
- FaZe Clan to Make Final @ 2.00 (1/1)
- Natus Vincere to Win Outright @ 5.00 (4/1)
- NAVI Vs. Team Vitality Total Maps Over 2.5 @ 1.85 (5/6)
Whether you’re tuning into the live stream or able to attend the event in person, this should be an exciting end to one of the best years of CS:GO action. We say that Natus Vincere will step up and defend their title to approve winable betting predictions, extending their dominance over the end-of-year BLAST event. However, FaZe Clan and six other teams will have something to say about that, so tune in to find out how the tournament unfolds.
