The tournament will start with a group stage featuring two double-elimination brackets. There will be eight professional teams in each group. The opening matches in this contest will be best-of-one (Bo1). However, all subsequent matches will follow a best-of-three (Bo3) format.

As previously stated, CS2 IEM Rio comes with a $250,000 prize pool. Tournament winners will receive a $100,000 prize and gain direct qualification to IEM Katowice 2025. Second and third-placed teams will earn $42,000 and $20,000 respectively.
