Understanding the Apex Legends Global Series: 2023 Championship

This event is the culmination of the year’s play across Apex Legends, with teams qualifying from all five major leagues of the game. With the first ALGS Championship being held just last year, this is all fresh territory for both players and fans alike.

ALGS 2023 Tournament Structure

Teams are divided into four groups, with 10 teams in each. Three stages then unfold, with the first seeing groups play each other for a six-game series, with a total of 18 games for every team. This determines the 20 teams that move into the winners’ bracket and 20 that go into the losers’ bracket.

From here, the winners bracket will see a single eight-game series played out for each team, while the losers bracket will see two eight-game series played. The top 10 sides from the winners’ bracket move to the final, then the bottom 10 from the losers bracket are eliminated, and the remaining 20 contest round two in the losers bracket.

The finals will then be played using the match point format, with the top 10 qualifiers being given seedings. There will be no match limit in the finals, with teams needing to cross 50 points in order to become match point eligible and win.

Esports bookies are offering up a brilliant bet to get the cogs turning ahead of the ALGS: 2023 Championship, with odds of 1.61 (8/13) for the tournament winner to come from North America. Now, these may not seem like the most lucrative odds, but get this – the top four favorites heading into this year-end event are from North America. This is the equivalent of stepping back and saying, “Yeah, I’ll bet ONE of them wins!”

Take this wager, and if TSM, NRG, DarkZero, or XSET win – or any of the other nine North American teams – then you’ll be getting paid back a good handful of change.

If you feel like a whole bagful of change instead of just a handful, then we recommend betting on DarkZero Esports to win the Apex Legends Championship 2023. Here’s the thing: DarkZero don’t win often, but when they do, it’s a biggie. That’s why their odds are so lucrative, and that’s why we say they’re going to win.

But it’s not just a hunch. DarkZero won the ALGS: 2023 Split 2 Playoffs in emphatic style, dispatching TSM and claiming $300,000. This was the most recent S-tier event in Apex Legends, and they hold the title. Oh, and did we mention they’re defending champions, having come here and won the event this time last year?

NRG Top Three Finish @ 4.33 (10/3)

Another set of excellent Apex Legends odds are the top three finish betting markets, where NRG are paying a healthy rate. NRG have finished in the top three in both of the AGLS Split Playoffs this year, winning in May and placing second in July. Add in the fact that they’ve landed on the podium in five of the 10 events they’ve played in 2023 overall, and they’re looking like a smart bet to make a deep run here.

Based on their historical results, they’re at least a 50/50 chance of making the top three, and with odds of 4.33 (10/3), that’s a bet you should take every day.
