Looking at these 2024 NASCAR Cup Series odds, one thing is clear: it’s going to be a tight season. Barely a whisker separates the bookies’ top five favorites heading into the season. Defending champion Ryan Blaney has his nose in front at 5.00 (4/1), while William Byron and Kylie Larson are bearing down on him at 7.00 (6/1). Both Denny Hamlin and Chase Elliot are not far behind either, returning 8.00 (7/1) and 9.00 (8/1) respectively.
Ryan Blaney @ 5.00 (4/1)
The bookies’s favorite Ryan Blaney comes into 2024 having stolen the NASCAR Series Cup in the final race of the season last year. This was Blaney’s inaugural championship, with the 30-year-old having failed to place in the top five any season prior. However, three race wins plus eight more top-five finishes were enough to get Blaney across the line in 2023.
William Byron @ 7.00 (6/1)
William Byron is yet to win a Cup Series, and will feel hard done by last season. The man won more races than any other driver in 2023 yet was pipped to the title by Blaney. He’s been a consistent fixture in the top 10 across the past three years and will be primed for a deep run this year.
Kyle Larson @ 7.00 (6/1)
When is Kyle Larson not in the running for a NASCAR championship? The American consistently places in the top 10 overall, having done so every year since 2016 (when he completed a full roster). Last season, Larson grabbed the second-most wins and joint most top-five finishes. He’s also tasted NASCAR glory before, winning it all in 2021.
Denny Hamlin @ 8.00 (7/1)
Coming off a fifth-placed finish in 2023, Hamlin will be looking to improve and make a run for the title this year. He’s been close plenty of times in the past but will need to find something extra to get across the line in 2024. Well, on the other side of 40, Hamlin is certainly on the clock if he’s going to claim a series win.
Chase Elliot @ 9.00 (8/1)
Rounding out the bookies’ favorites, Chase Elliot, the 2020 winner, comes in at fifth. Elliot podiumed five times in 2023 but was unable to gain a race win. He’ll need to improve on this if the American is to be any threat to the series this year.
History of the NASCAR Cup Series
NASCAR hails way back to 1949, with roots in the Strictly Stock and Grand National events. Originally, the competition featured eight races, with seven on dirt ovals and one on Daytona Beach’s course. Since then, things have evolved massively.
As of 2020, NASCAR’s premier competition became known as the NASCAR Cup Series. The competition features a plethora of races over the course of nine months, including the majors Daytona 500, GEICO 500, Coca-Cola 600, and Cook Out Southern 500.
With Red Byron winning the inaugural NASCAR series, 74 drivers have been crowned since then, with Ryan Blaney being the latest.
Past Winners of the NASCAR Cup Series

NASCAR Cup Series 2024 Season Predictions
We’ve scoured through all the best auto racing odds and found the wagers that will be the most lucrative. Here are the four NASCAR 2024 predictions for this season that we recommend:
William Byron to Win @ 7.00 (6/1)
2 (100%)
0
We say the trend of different champions every year will continue in 2024, with William Byron winning his first NASCAR Cup Series this year. Put simply, Byron’s performance last year was enough to win most seasons, and if the American can produce anything close to the same level as he brought in 2023, he’ll have a great shot here. His number of race wins, top five, and top 10 finishes were all incredible, and we say Byron’s consistency will pay off with a series win in 2024.
Joey Logano to Win @ 13.00 (12/1)
1 (50%)
(50%) 1
This one’s for those who like cranking up the risk vs reward meter. No active driver has three series wins under their belt, but we say Joey Logano has an outside chance of doing that this year. Sure, last season wasn’t his finest, with a 12th-place finish overall, but he did still win one race. With Logano’s series victories coming in 2018 and 2022, it’s not that long ago that he was top of the pack. For a return of 13.00 (12/1), it’s not unreasonable to back the man to have a comeback to form in 2024.
Martin Truex Jr. to Beat Christopher Bell @ 2.00 (1/1)
2 (100%)
0
Looking at some head-to-head betting options for the NASCAR Cup Series 2024, expect Martin Truex Jr. to outperform Christopher Bell over the course of the season. This wager may not be the most lucrative, but it’s a solid bet. Truex Jr. won an impressive three races in 2023 and made the top 10 on 17 occasions, stats much better than Bell’s. He’ll also have a third series win on his mind, and while we expect he’ll fall short of that, he should still do better than Bell.
William Byron to Beat Kyle Larson @ 1.91 (10/11)
2 (100%)
0
This one is a bit of a gimme, considering we’ve predicted Byron to win the entire series. However, those looking to hedge their bets a little could just take Byron to beat Kyle Larson, who is the bookies’ joint second favorite in the outright winner market. We say Byron will continue his red-hot form of 2023 and remain ahead of Larson.
