The world No. 9 had a poor World Championships, falling in the first round to Zii Jia Lee. However, Changzhou proves the perfect opportunity for the 25-year-old to bounce back, and Hong Yang Weng is a great opponent to do so against.
The pair are well-matched, with their last two meetings shared 1-1. Christie got the better of their most recent encounter at the Japan Open, where the Indonesian made a deep run until he met Viktor Axelsen in the final. The Dane will respond to this in one of two ways: turning up to the China Open 2023 on a mission and devastating all in his path or beating himself up and getting into a little bit of a funk the next few events.
