This tournament is contested annually, with the exception of the years that the Summer Olympics are held. In terms of format, the men’s singles will see a 64-player knockout draw contested, with the top 16 players seeded. For the women, it’s a slightly smaller event, with a 48-player draw but the same number of seeds.

Simply put, Viktor Axelsen is head and shoulders above his competition right now, and it would take a miracle for the world No.1 not to win again in front of his home fans. Some injury doubts do exist around Dane’s right thigh, which caused him to miss a few events this year, but it’s more than likely these breaks were just precautionary from Axelsen, and he makes an easy run to the gold medal here.

Akane Yamaguchi pays a handsome 3.75 (11/4) to win, and while her rivalry with Se Young is fierce, it’s too hard to pass up a bet on the two-time defending champion at this kind of odds.
Not only does Yamaguchi have history on her side, having won this event twice already, but she’s been in great shape this season too. Earlier this year, she defeated Se Young in the Malaysia Open final, lifting her fourth Super 1000 title of her career. A rematch in the World Championships final between these two would be a sight to behold, and we say that the Japanese player’s experience will see her come up trumps.

For those who want some betting tips for BWF World Championships 2023 men that pay out a little quicker, there’s a great match-up in round one to bet on. Srikanth Kidambi may be past his prime, but the veteran Indian player should win a hard-fought opening match against Kenta Nishimoto for a return of 1.83 (5/6).
The pair faced off recently in the round of 16 at the Sathio Group Australian Open 2023. Kidambi won the match in straight sets, 21-18, 21-7. Considering that match was only a few weeks ago, it’s hard to see Nishimoto turning the tables in Denmark.
