Champions League: Who Will Win Each Group? [Expert Analysis]

Champions League: Who Will Win Each Group?

We are at the midway point of the Champions League group stage, so it is time to take stock of how things are going in Europe’s foremost club competition.

Which teams will finish top of the eight groups? We have taken a look at the various contenders and the latest Champions League betting odds.

Group A

  • Bayern Munich: 1/33 (bet365)
  • Manchester United: 22/1 (Spreadex)
  • Galatasaray: 25/1 (Spreadex)
  • Copenhagen: 250/1 (Spreadex)

With nine points from nine and a healthy goal difference, Bayern Munich are the odds-on favourites to win Group A. A victory over Galatasaray this week would in effect wrap up top spot for the Germans.

Manchester United are only outsiders to topple Bayern, but they and Galatasaray are almost certainly battling for second.

Prediction: Bayern Munich to win Group A.

Group B

  • Arsenal: 2/9 (bet365)
  • Lens: 6/1 (Spreadex)
  • PSV: 25/1 (Coral)
  • Sevilla: 33/1 (Spreadex)

Arsenal only have a one-point lead over Lens after three rounds of fixtures, but the bookmakers fancy them to finish first.

The French side must still visit the Emirates Stadium, handing Arsenal an advantage. PSV and Sevilla are long shots to advance in first place.

Prediction: Arsenal to win Group B.

Group C

  • Real Madrid: 2/17 (Spreadex)
  • Napoli: 13/2 (William Hill)
  • Braga: 100/1 (Spreadex)
  • Union Berlin: 150/1 (Spreadex)

Real Madrid have maximum points so far. Their most impressive victory was a 3-2 success against Napoli, and that result should help them finish top.

Realistically, the Italian outfit would have to win at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu to usurp Madrid – and even that might not be enough.

Prediction: Real Madrid to win Group C.

Group D

  • Inter: 8/15 (888 Sport)
  • Real Sociedad: 2/1 (Betway)
  • Red Bull Salzburg: 25/1 (BetVictor)
  • Benfica: 150/1 (Spreadex)

Inter are the favourites to win Group D, but they are not actually top right now. That honour belongs to Real Sociedad, who are level on points with last season’s runners-up.

The winner of this section will probably be determined when the two teams do battle at San Siro on December 12.

Prediction: Real Sociedad to win Group D.

Group E

  • Atletico Madrid: 8/11 (Spreadex)
  • Feyenoord: 11/4 (Bet UK)
  • Lazio: 9/2 (Spreadex)
  • Celtic: 50/1 (Spreadex)

Atletico Madrid still have two home games to come, which is part of the reason why they are the favourites to top Group E despite currently being second.

Feyenoord are their closest challengers as things stand, but Lazio are not entirely out of the race yet either.

Prediction: Atletico Madrid to win Group E.

Group F

  • PSG: 4/6 (bet365)
  • Newcastle United: 7/2 (Sky Bet)
  • Borussia Dortmund: 9/2 (BetVictor)
  • AC Milan: 14/1 (Bet MGM)

At the midway point of the group stage, this is the closest of all eight groups – even the last-placed AC Milan are just 14/1 to finish top.

Still, PSG are in pole position to advance as Group F winners. They have the most points and have scored the most goals up to now.

Prediction: PSG to win Group F.

Group G

  • Manchester City: 1/40 (bet365)
  • RB Leipzig: 16/1 (bet365)
  • Young Boys: 300/1 (Spreadex)
  • Red Star Belgrade: 300/1 (Betfair)

It would be a major shock if Manchester City did not finish top of Group G. The reigning champions have dominated so far and may well end up with maximum points.

RB Leipzig are the only team that could possibly dethrone them, but that bet does not look especially tempting.

Prediction: Manchester City to win Group G.

Group H

  • Barcelona: 1/10 (Betfred)
  • Porto: 13/2 (Unibet)
  • Shakhtar Donetsk: 80/1 (Spreadex)
  • Royal Antwerp: 300/1 (Spreadex)

Barcelona crashed out in the group phase in 2021/22 and 2022/23, but they will surely be progressing this time.

Porto could potentially prevent the Blaugrana taking top spot, although Xavi Hernandez’s side are looking strong.

Prediction: Barcelona to win Group H.
