Thunderpick Compared to Other Market Leaders

Thunderpick beats its competition in several areas. It has a more attractive welcome bonus compared to most of its rivals. Pinnacle and BetFury don’t have a welcome offer for sports bettors, while Rivalry only provides new users with up to €85 ($100) bonus compared to Thunderpick’s €600. BC.Game, BetUS, and Rolletto offer larger amounts but also attach between 14x and 20x wagering requirements. Thunderpick’s welcome bonus is subject to a 10x rollover requirement.

At Thunderpick, users can withdraw up to €100,000 per week. Rivalry limits monthly withdrawals to €2,560 ($3,000) for regular users and €34,100 ($40,000) for “enhanced users,” while punters at BetUS can pay out a maximum of €2,560 ($3,000) per day. Rolleto limits monthly withdrawals to €15,000.

About Thunderpick and Paloma Media B.V.

Thunderpick was launched in 2017. It is owned by a company called Paloma Media B.V., which is incorporated under the laws of Curacao and headquartered in Willemstad, Curacao. Paloma Media B.V. is licensed (License Number: OGL/2024/677/0722) by the Curacao Gaming Authority (CGA) to offer games of chance. According to the official registry, the license was issued on June 4, 2025, and expires on December 4, 2025. 

There is not a lot of information available publicly on Paloma Media B.V. It appears that Thunderpick is the only gambling brand they operate. We were unable to access records that show its financial health or holding structure. The company has an official website, which doesn’t offer any further insight into its business. It claims to be “the leading provider of digital solutions and support.”

Thunderpick positioned itself as one of the leading crypto bookies for Esports. Its target audience is Esports fans who want to place wagers on top competitions in Counter-Strike, Valorant, Dota 2, League of Legends, or Rainbow Six. The bookmaker also aims to attract punters who value their privacy and prefer to bet with crypto.

Thunderpick relies on streamers and influencers to promote its platform. It runs a “Thunderpicked Influencer Program,” which aims to increase the sportsbook’s reach among Esports fans. The program includes a lineup of content creators, who are featured in Thunderpick’s marketing campaigns and take part in the events organized by the bookmaker. They also regularly promote the platform through their social media and streams.

Regulatory Track Records

In 2023, Paloma Media B.V. received a formal warning from the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA). The investigation carried out by ACMA showed that Thunderpick offered its services to punters in Australia despite not having a local license. The company was found in violation of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 by “providing prohibited interactive gambling services and unlicensed regulated interactive gambling services to customers physically present in Australia.” As a result, ACMA requested internet service providers to block Thunderpick’s website. Paloma Media B.V. didn’t issue any response to ACMA’s actions.

Odds

Thunderpick usually posts first odds several days before the kick-off. In some instances, they are posted up to seven days before kick-off. You will usually find prices for the upcoming gameweek for leagues or rounds of a tournament during that period. 

The bookmaker offers 130+ markets for its top events, although the number will depend on the sport. Once you find the market you like and click on the odds, it instantly gets added to your bet slip, and you can place the bet in less than two seconds.

Punters can choose between seven odds formats: Decimal, Multiplier, Fractional, American, Indonesian, Hong Kong, and Malaysian. The tool for switching between the formats is available at the bottom of the page or in the accounts menu. The odds are displayed to two decimals. They are updated in real time, with the change being indicated by a green arrow for increased prices and a red arrow for decreased prices. You will also receive a warning in your bet slip if you added the market but still haven’t confirmed the bet. However, you won’t be able to view historical odds, and there are no built-in odds comparison tools or links that would allow you to compare the bookmaker’s prices with those offered by other bookies. 

Thunderpick doesn’t provide the same margin policy across all sports. Its margin is around 9% for soccer, 8% for Esports, 7% for basketball and tennis, and between 5% and 6% for American football. The sportsbook doesn’t explain how the margin is calculated. However, it provides an implied probability calculator and a No Vig Fair calculator. The former allows you to see the “real” probability of a certain outcome, while the latter gives you the opportunity to remove the bookie’s edge and discover the “true” odds. 

Payment Options

Thunderpick is a crypto-only sportsbook. Punters can only make deposits and withdrawals using cryptocurrencies. Traditional methods like bank transfers and credit/debit cards are not supported. You also won’t be able to use e-wallets like Skrill and Neteller. 

The bookie offers a couple of alternative solutions for users who don’t own crypto tokens. It directs bettors to RockWallet crypto exchange, where they can purchase cryptocurrency using traditional payment methods and then transfer it to their Thunderpick account. Thunderpick supports 14 cryptocurrency options for deposits and withdrawals. This includes Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, Solana, Tron, and Ripple. All transactions are free of charge. The processing time for a deposit depends on the crypto token you use. For example, Bitcoin has a processing time of “1 confirm,” while Ethereum transactions are processed in “10 confirms.” This is the number of times the transaction needs to be confirmed on the blockchain before it reaches your account. In Bitcoin’s case, 1 confirm translates to around 10 minutes, and in the case of Ethereum, it translates to around 15 seconds. All withdrawals are processed in up to five minutes, regardless of the crypto token. 

The main currency used at Thunderpick is the EUR. Users can also choose a number of other currencies, including USD, CAD, GBP, INR, and PHP. The bookmaker offers a built-in tool that you can use to calculate the amount you wish to deposit by converting your account currency to the preferred cryptocurrency. The minimum deposit amount ranges from €1.10 for Ripple and Litecoin to €10.57 for Bitcoin. There is no upper limit for deposits. 

Withdrawal minimum is €10 for most cryptocurrencies, with the exception of Bitcoin (€25) and Ripple (€15). There is a weekly maximum withdrawal limit. Thunderpick has some of the best Esports coverage in the betting industry. There is a dedicated section of the sportsbook for betting on video game events with 30 listed titles. You’ll find major video games like Counter-Strike, League of Legends, Dota 2, and Valorant. The selection also includes Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Warcraft 3, Tekken, and Age of Empires. 

The bookmaker covers major Esports championships as well as regional leagues. It also organizes the Thunderpick World Championship, which is a Counter-Strike 2 competition that runs from April through October and has a $1,000,000 prize pool. The top matches in Counter-Strike, LOL, and Dota have 400+ markets. 

Thunderpick does a great job with traditional sports as well. For example, all major soccer leagues, lower divisions, and cup competitions are included. Women’s and youth leagues for core sports are absent, with the exception of the WNBA. 

The flagship soccer and basketball matches have 50+ markets. The number comes up to 130+ for NFL games. The selection includes a variety of team props and period markets for the 1st and 2nd half, quarters, and intervals. The market counters are visible in the event header. 

Thunderpick has its own version of Bet Builder called Same Game Combo. However, it is only available for Esports and selected events from League of Legends, CS2, and Valorant. It allows punters to combine match winners, map winners, players to achieve the most kills, over/under on total rounds or maps, correct scores, and in-game events like first blood and first tower. 

The bookmaker says it offers futures markets for soccer league winners and NBA title winners. However, we were unable to find those markets at the time of the review. 

Punters can use filters for different types of markets only for a single event. There is also a search option that allows you to find a market you’re interested in quickly. 

Live Betting and Streaming

Thunderpick offers live betting, but doesn’t include most pre-match sports. It mainly focuses on major sports, although you will be able to find high-profile competitions from less popular sports like the Handball Champions League. The lower-tier leagues and youth competitions for all sports are not included. Also, we witnessed instances in which some events were listed in the in-play section, but the odds remained “locked” for a long time.

Live markets are available 24/7. There are between 40 and 50 markets available on flagship football matches, covering 1×2 markets, correct score, 1st half result, and totals on goals. You won’t find fast markets like “next 1 minute corner” or similar.

It has an attractive theme and distinct icons for different sections and sports. Also, a lot of teams across major sports have their original logos, adding to the visual appeal.

The menu on the left allows quick switching between different Esports, sports, and casino sections. It also has a “Home” button, which allows users to reveal shortcuts for more sections, including the betting dashboard, profile, promotions, blog, and customer support. You can minimize the menu to get a better view of the central panel. 

When you select the sports section, you will see the selection of top tournaments placed at the top. You can click on the sport to have all upcoming and live events listed, or click on the arrow next to it to select a particular country or a specific league. 

The sidebar on the right contains a bet slip, but you can also switch it to show community chat, bet history, or casino games. The account menu opens in the same sidebar and doesn’t interfere with the main content. 

The website has a predictive search feature, which you can use to find competitions, teams, and athletes. There are no filters for date, league, odds range, or bet type. Also, there is no way to add a specific sport, competition, or team to the list of favorites. 

Thunderpick’s website has a chat feature. It is open to all users who achieve Iron rank. Punters often use it to discuss past or upcoming events and share their bets. The bookie also offers a variety of betting calculators. You can use them to calculate betting odds, parlays, arbitrage/hedge, implied probability, expected value, and odds with no vig. 

Users can manage their notifications by visiting “Settings” in the account menu. There is an option to turn off all notifications, or have them show on the page or in the browser. Match notifications are enabled by default. 

Mobile Betting

Thunderpick doesn’t have a traditional mobile app for Android or iOS. Instead, it offers mobile betting through a progressive web app (PWA). 

When you access the bookie’s website through a mobile browser, you are actually accessing the Thunderpick PWA. You can install it on your Android device using the “Install” option in the browser or add it to the Home Screen of your iOS device. In that case, it will work as a standalone app, opening in full screen and supporting push notifications. However, you won’t be able to access it while offline.

The PWA works smoothly. It is fast and easy to navigate thanks to the shortcuts for different sections in the footer. During our review, we haven’t experienced any crashes or glitches, and the battery consumption was reasonable. We could also use all the features available on the desktop website. This includes switching between different odds formats and changing the language.

The bookie advertises app-only promotions and bonuses. However, we couldn’t find any evidence for this. 

Security & Data Protection

Thunderpick places significant focus on security and data protection. It uses TLS 1.3, the latest encryption standard, to protect sensitive information. The sportsbook processes personal data following General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) principles.

Punters can enable two-factor authentication (2-FA) for further protection. When enabled, the bookmaker will send users a one-time code via email or authenticator app to verify their identity every time they want to log in to their account, deposit funds, or make a withdrawal.

Thunder Race 

Thunder Race is available to all users who have achieved Iron rank or higher. They work in a similar way to leaderboards. Punters collect “race points” by placing bets or playing casino games with real money. The users with the most race points receive prizes in the form of cash bonuses. The customer support is available 24/7 via live chat. You can also reach out to the support team by sending an email provided in the FAQ section. Our experience was positive. It didn’t take long before we were connected with an agent each time we used the live chat option. They were polite and were ready to answer any questions we had. The only remark is that they seem impatient. Every time we didn’t respond immediately, they would send a scripted message that they would close the chat if we didn’t reply soon. 

After the end of the conversation, we had the opportunity to take a post-interaction survey. It included questions about our satisfaction with customer support and gave us an option to provide more details about our experience. 

The bookmaker’s FAQ section covers general instructions and explanations. There is no search function or troubleshooting guides for common errors.
