Satbet operates exclusively in India. Punters from other regions can access the website but are unable to use it in full. You are required to provide an Indian phone number to register. The KYC procedure needs to be completed using documents issued by the government of India.

Satbet is licensed in Curacao (License Number: 8048/JAZ2019-038). This jurisdiction is popular among offshore bookmakers due to low cost and fast approval. It also enables them to offer several types of gambling services in a large number of countries. The Curacao license was long considered less credible due to perceived lack of regulatory oversight. However, major changes were introduced in recent years to improve its reputation. This included increased business transparency and stricter anti-money laundering and responsible gambling rules.

Regulatory Track Records

There is no information that Satbet has had troubles with regulators in recent years. We couldn’t find any records of fines or warnings issued to the bookie. 

Odds

The first odds for most events at Satbet are posted 24 to 48 hours before kick-off. The sportsbook posts initial prices for high-profile events even earlier. During the football season, punters can find the odds for matches of the top five European leagues (Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, and Ligue 1) several weeks before they are scheduled to start. It usually includes the upcoming matchday and the one after it. Prices for some NBA games are posted five months before the tip-off, which isn’t that common in the industry.

Punters can browse through 400+ markets for top events. Once you find the market and odds you like, it will take less than a second between bet click and confirmation.

Satbet only offers the Decimal odds format. There is no option to switch to other formats, like American or Fractional. The odds are displayed to two decimals and updated in real-time. The change is shown with a green arrow for increased odds and a red arrow for decreased odds.

You won’t be able to get an overview of how prices changed over time for a particular event. There is also no built-in odds comparison tool or link that would allow punters to compare Satbet’s odds to those offered by the competition. The bookmaker also doesn’t disclose how it derives cash out prices or have a published methodology for voids, palpables, and settlement rules.

The sportsbook’s margin for football is between 4% and 5%, but margins for other sports are notably worse. This includes between 6% and 7% for cricket and between 5% and 6% for tennis. The margin is particularly unfavorable for the NFL at 9%. The bookie doesn’t explain how margins are calculated or provide implied probability tools. The customer support also declined to share the details about the topic when reached out to.

Payment Options

The only supported currency at Satbet is the Indian Rupee (₹). The bookmaker offers mobile payment methods for making deposits, including Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, and Airtel. There are two ways you can use them: QR Code and Pay via Link. 

For the first option, you need to navigate to the “Deposit” section, select QR Code, and enter the amount. It will display the QR of the bank account that you need to scan using your Google Play, PhonePe, or other supported app. After that, simply confirm the transaction by entering your PIN, and the funds will be credited to your account. 

If you select Pay via Link, you need to enter your unique Satbet ID and the amount you want to deposit. The bookie will generate a UPI link, which you need to click. It will open in your payment app, and you just need to follow the instructions on the screen to complete the transaction. 

We noticed that the QR code often changes. One time it processed a payment to the Indian Bank and another time to the Bank of Maharashtra. Also, the QR code option wasn’t available at times. 

Other popular methods supported by a lot of bookmakers, like credit/debit cards (Visa and Mastercard), e-wallets (Skrill and Neteller), and prepaid vouchers, were not available during our review. Users are also unable to use cryptocurrencies. 

The minimum deposit amount is INR 500 while the maximum is INR 1,000,000. If you try to enter an amount below the minimum and above the maximum, the bookie will prompt you to modify the entry. 

Withdrawals equal to or lower than the previously deposited amount must be made using the same payment method. For any amount that surpasses your previous deposit, you will be required to request a bank transfer or wire transfer. 

The bookie provides step-by-step instructions for making deposits and withdrawals. In order to find them, you will need to navigate to “Promotions” and click on “How to Play.” There are also links for YouTube videos that explain the process in Hindi. There is no live streaming option offered by Satbet. However, punters can use “Live Match Tracker” to get an idea of what’s happening on the field. Depending on the sport, you will also be able to see the scorecard, statistics, head-to-head record, standings, timeline of points, and lineups. We were able to access this option only when using the bookie’s mobile app. The website only has a basic tracker, where you can see the score and course of the match with key moments like shots, bookings, and goals.

Satbet lists several welcome bonuses under the “Promotions” tab. The first is “IPL 300% DEPOSIT BONUS,” which promises new users a 300% match on their first deposit up to INR 10,000. It is valid for 10 days. After the bonus funds are used, punters have two days to clear the 10x wagering requirement in order to have access to potential winnings. You’ll also find “SATBET IPL BONUS” and “SATBET WPL BONUS.” However, the descriptions of these bonuses are unclear. They combine parts of terms and conditions, word by word, from other bonuses. This makes it really hard to understand what they offer. For example, in the list of bonuses, it says that “SATBET WPL BONUS” offers “WPL up to 10% REAL CASH BONUS!” Once you click on it, it says users can get “100% matching bonus of up to INR 10,000.” In the “Terms and Requirement” part of the description, it states the bookie will “match 50% of the deposit amount.” 

The most attractive promotion that Satbet has is the real cash bonus, which is available to all users. For each deposit they make, punters receive 5% match up to INR 50,000. It is credited immediately after the deposit and is subject to a 1x rollover requirement. To claim it, you need to fund your account with at least INR 1,000. It can be used for sports betting, exchange, casino games, and live casino. It doesn’t expire. 

During our review, Satbet didn’t offer other promos like daily boosts or free bets. The bookmaker displays the Club Loyalty banner on its home page. According to the banner, there are four tiers of this loyalty program: Silver, Gold, Platinum, and VIP. Users can qualify for the first tier if they have a turnover of INR 1,000, while the VIP tier requires a turnover of INR 10,000,000. The perks include a bonus on deposits, weekly lossback for the casino and sportsbook, and weekly free spins. It wasn’t possible to check detailed information about it, since the “Know More” and “T&C” buttons didn’t work, but the customer support confirmed it is still active. 

Website

Satbet’s website is difficult to use, and the experience can be frustrating at times. The design is nice, especially the visuals and presentation of events, but the pages take a long time to load. Also, there will be times when the page will load, but some sections or icons will be missing. Other times, you will be stuck on the same page that is in the process of loading, but never gets there. In these cases, the only option is to refresh the page.

The sports menu doesn’t have a featured section, and you can’t place your favorites on top. In order to browse events from certain competitions, you need to select the sport, the country (or international), and then you can choose the league or tournament. What makes things slightly easier is that you can easily switch between different sports in the central panel. There is an option to filter out events based on whether they start today, tomorrow, or at some other point in the future. You can use a predictive search option, but can’t find competitions with it. The only supported entries are the name of the team or an athlete. 

The bet slip is conveniently placed on the right side. It features suggested bet amounts and a checkbox for “always allow odds changes.” You can also check your bet history and see wagers that are eligible for cash out.

You can only add competitions to your list of favorites, and they are remembered between sessions. However, it isn’t particularly convenient. For example, if one of the competitions on the list doesn’t have matches on that particular day, you need to click on “Favorites,” then click on “Tomorrow” or “Future” to see it. The bookmaker doesn’t give you an option to browse through recently viewed markets or offers personalized recommendations.

The website allows you to switch between dark and light themes only when you’re using the “Exchange.” This option isn’t available for the sportsbook or casino.

Mobile Betting

Satbet offers two mobile betting options to its users: a mobile website and an Android app. There is no iOS app available. 

The Satbet app for Android needs to be downloaded through the official website. It isn’t offered on Google Play. You need to visit the bookie’s site using your mobile browser, scroll to the bottom of the page, and find the “Download The App” banner. Click on it to download the APK file, which you then need to install.

The Android app is identical to the mobile web app, which you can access using the mobile browser. It doesn’t offer any additional features and doesn’t keep you logged in. It is slow to load and sometimes doesn’t register touches or registers them with a delay. Don’t be surprised if your screen turns white for a few seconds when you switch between different sections. The only convenience is that you will be able to access it with one tap. 

The home page of the app is actually the same as the home page for the desktop website, just made to fit the screen of a mobile device. The only difference is the bottom navigation bar, which contains shortcuts for customer support, casino, sports, and the menu. The menu shortcut is often unresponsive. 

One positive is that the app becomes stable and faster when you enter the sportsbook. You will need four taps to reach the competition, but the search option is conveniently placed in the bottom navigation bar. 

The bet slip opens up every time you click on the odds. It will cover up the entire screen, and you’ll have to close it each time by tapping “X” in the right corner. 

Mobile Web App

The mobile web app looks identical to the Android app and offers all the same functions. The only notable difference is that the bottom navigation menu isn’t shown at all times. You either need to swipe or scroll to the bottom in order to reveal it.

Satbet uses TLS 1.3 encryption to protect the sensitive information of its users and ensure safe use of its betting platform. This is the latest version of Transport Layer Security (TLS) and the industry standard.

However, its website displays logos of reputable internet security companies like TRUSTe, McAfee Secure, SiteLock, and GeoTrust. Satbet Exchange

According to Satbet, its “Exchange” platform is powered by Betfair. This UK bookmaker is considered a pioneer in exchange betting, offering it since 2000. 

With exchange betting, users are wagering against each other instead of the bookie. You have the option to “back” or “lay” an outcome. When backing an outcome, you are predicting that something will happen, like Liverpool winning against Arsenal in a Premier League match. To lay an outcome means predicting that something will not happen. One example would be that the Chennai Super Kings won’t score 170 runs in their match against the Delhi Capitals. 

Users can set their own odds and place a “back” or “lay” wager. In order for it to become active, they need another punter to accept their price and take the opposite side of the bet. The bookmaker charges a commission on the winnings.

Satbet’s exchange platform offers nine sports, including cricket, football, horse racing, greyhounds, and kabaddi. Our experience with the bookmaker’s customer support left a lot to be desired. When using the live chat option, we were connected to an agent almost immediately.
